3.1 Miles 5 Miles 5k Run

Join us for the 15th Annual Frosty Five Run. Enjoy the scenic course that starts at Studebaker Park Pavilion and follows the River Greenway Trail along the Elkhart River The 5K and 5M courses will now all be almost entirely on paved trails through the woods, along the river.

February is the month when the winter blues might try to set in, so come out for some fun and camaraderie! You won't feel the cold with your running mates by your side! We'll have a fire going in the cabin to stay cozy before and after the race. There are large restrooms, so you can bring a dry top to change into there. Plenty of parking at the park- there are multiple lots and plenty of street parking. Parking attendants will be there to guide you.

This year, the race falls on Valentines Day, so why not gift your BFF or honey an entry and spend some frost, quality time together!

ENTRY FEE. The entry fee for the race, which includes chip timing, finisher memento, Age group placement awards three deep, and post race refreshments is now $30.00. Long sleeve shirts are optional and an additional $20.00. Vintage shirts are available onsite for $10, while they last.

PACKET PICK UP/ ONSITE REGISTRATION

Friday, February 13, 4:00-6:00 pm @ Studebaker Pavilion

Race Day Registration and Packet pickup on Saturday, February 14 @ 8:30-9:45 am (EST)

Race Start: 10 am (EST) *

EVENT LOCATION

Studebaker Park Pavilion (looks like big log cabin)

1020 McDonald Street, Elkhart, IN 46516

NEW FOR 2026 - based on YOUR requests !

  • Chip start [we are adding an additional timing mat at the starting line, since the start and finish are in different locations.]

  • Awards Ceremony [ We will announce the top overall winners] and then open "self serve" age group awards so you won't have to wait in the cold for everyone to finish

PARKING

There are three lots in the park for parking. Please follow instructions from parking volunteers. Please enter the lots off of Indiana on BELMONT street- you will see signs and volunteers. Belmont Street is a straight shot into the parking lots! Look for the signs.

Please, no parking ON McDonald as that is part of the course. There is a huge lot at Mary Beck Elementary School as well.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Flat, (ok there is one very small hill on the scenic, tree-lined, paved course. The 5 K is a flat lollipop course that almost looks like a T, and there is two way traffic on the way back- which is nice because you will never be alone on the course!

The 5 Mile would be more of a dumbbell shaped course - with a loop in the beginning and then the exact same course as the 5K.

REMINDERS

  • The 5 Mile course has added the additional 1.9 miles up front, so when you join the 5K course, everyone runs the same path, without deviation. There is no way to miss a turn.

  • Monster Message will be bringing the tunes! Let us know your faves, we are taking requests until Jan 30!

  • Both distances start in the same location but at different times! Pay attention so you start in the right group!

  • Custom bibs, with GREEN for 5K and ORANGE for 5 Mile

NOTE: There are two different start times for the different distances. The 5 K course starts on the road by the parking lots and will follow green signs. You will have different colored bibs, so help each other out if you notice that someone didn't get the memo on this detail. The 5 MILE course also starts by the parking lot and then exits on McDonald Avenue and will follow the ORANGE arrow signs.

The 5K will line up first and begin first, then the 5 Milers will line up and start a few minutes afterwards in the same direction.

DOGS If you would like to run with your dog, you will just need to fill out a waiver and adhere to the park rules. Please contact the race director for that waiver to register your dog!

TIMING We will use Watts My Time for timing of this race, which uses RFID tags. You will attach one tag to each of your shoes (through your shoelace) and let them flop free. (As opposed to putting them tightly down against your shoes.). We will collect these tags at the end of the race. As soon as you finish, you can go to the printing station and get your label with your personal finish time.

RESULTS There will be a fire and refreshments in the Pavilion to keep you warm while we wait for results. Results get pushed to Runsignup after the race.

AWARDS Finisher hats for everyone! Top Three M/F both distances will get a special custom award. Top three AG winners in 15 standard age groups in both distances will get medals.

Refreshments Coffee, cocoa, fruit, trail mix, and more will be available when you finish in the Pavilion.
