LOCATION: Clear Lake Recreation and Community Center, located at 16511 Diana Lane, near El Camino and Bay Area Blvd.

START TIMES: Kids 1K: 7:00 AM – 5K: Right After Kids 1K

Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface on July 20, 1969, at 20:17 UTC. Michael Collins piloted the command module Columbia alone in lunar orbit while Armstrong and Aldrin were on the Moon’s surface.

The Lunar Landing 5K is a great way to celebrate one of mankind’s greatest accomplishments.

The Lunar Landing 5K is part of the Texas 5K Series produced by Running Alliance Sport.

Deadline for guarantee of shirt size and personalized name on bib is June 19.

This beginner-friendly race is perfect for newbies and more experienced youth triathletes too—it's a great summer challenge with a side of outdoor fun.

Set in the scenic Stevenson Park, racers will dash through shaded trails lined with majestic oak trees and native Texas plants. You’ll swim in the pool, pedal past cheering volunteers, and run under a canopy of oaks.

Two Waves of Racing Fun:

We have two USAT age-based divisions, with appropriately sized courses for every level of racer:

🟢 Council Wave (Ages 6–10)

• 100-yard pool swim

• 2.8-mile bike

• 0.6-mile run

🔵 Mayor’s Wave (Ages 11–16)

• 200-yard pool swim

• 4.4-mile bike

• 1.5-mile run

• The same person must finish all races in the same calendar year.

• The entire race series can be done virtually by selecting the Virtual option at registration. Athletes may transfer a live registration to the virtual race by contacting us before the actual race date. In both cases Virtual rules apply.

• For Yuri’s Night, either the 5K or the 10K Run will count.

• For the Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run either the 10K or 5K will count.

• For the Space City Run, ONLY the 5K will count.

Every finisher will receive a finisher medal at each race. A special commemorative item will be awarded to all who complete 5 races of the Series, at the Santa’s Sleigh 5K. There are no substitute races. The Texas Heat Wave and the Boo Dash are not a part of this Series.
