  • Miamisburg Triathlon [speedy-feet.com] [Register at runsignup.com]

    Sun, Aug 23, 2026 at 8:00 AM

The Miamisburg Triathlon is a great way to close out your summer. The bike and run are both flat, fast courses. It's a 2.5 mile canoe, followed by a 5k run and concludes with a 10 mile bike.

Participants can race with a partner or as a solo, either way you'll have something to brag about when you finish. All finishers get a custom medal and a great post-race spread.

2 Person Team Entry includes the canoe rental, life vests and paddles. Solo participants either bring your own kayak or paddleboard or make arrangements with Barefoot Canoe 937-698-4351 to have one brought for you on race day. We have a limit of 50 entry spots for 2-person teams. Solo spots are unlimited.

For 2-Person Team entries, do not use the Add Participant feature. You will be prompted for your partner's information and shirt size later in the registration process.

Thank you for your interest in the Miamisburg Triathlon. Race day is Sunday, August 23, 2026:

Start Times will be assigned in the order registrations are received. We will publish them once we get closer to race day.

Here are links to the courses for each segment of the race:

    Canoe Course: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4324732282

    Run Course: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4324739302

    Bike Course: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4324751656

It is recommended to arrive at Riverfront Park in Miamisburg at least one hour prior to your assigned start time. There is plenty of nearby parking. From Main St., turn west onto E. Central Ave., there is a road (Water St.) halfway between Main and Miami and you can access all of the lots from that road (it was previously the alley). Central Ave will be accessible.

There is also a tune-up station near the restrooms. It would be wise to bring an extra tube/tire repair kit and stow it in an empty water bottle in case of a flat.

You will have many things to take care of upon arrival. Registration will take place near the parking lot that serves as transition. At registration, you will get your packet, shirt, a timing chip on a neoprene strap and a number for your bike. Wear the timing chip on your ankle. Place the bike number on either the top tube or seat post of your bike. WE HAVE TO SEE THIS WHEN YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE. The ankle timing chips will be used for registering your split times but not your finish time.

Once you have completed registration, take your bike to the transition area and find a spot on the bike racks. There are no assigned spots so just find an available space and setup your bike. Hang your bike either by the seat or the handle bars. We typically have 175 participants so please be courteous and not take up too much space.

Once you have your bike ready, you are ready to proceed to the canoe start. It is about 1/3 of mile walk. Walk south from transition to Linden Avenue and turn right. You will cross the river. The “put-in” is right under the Linden Bridge at Case Landing. It is located on the west bank of the river. You will need to pick out a canoe if you are on a team. If you are solo, you are to bring your boat to the start. There is a gravel two-track between the river and the railroad tracks that you can drive down and get close to the start. We typically have several solo participants, so plan accordingly. All solos will start at 7:57 a.m. We will want you all in the water by 7:50 a.m. Teams should be in line with their canoe at least 5 minutes before their start time.

Typically, with this section of river you should never hit the bottom. If you want to bring dry shoes for the run, you can. Some folks put plastic bags over their shoes to keep them dry. The canoe take-out is on the left (east bank). Move to the left after going under the train bridge. The takeout is before the next bridge after the train tracks. When you take-out, you have to carry your canoe up and out of the way. Carry it across the bike path before starting your run. The volunteers will direct you.

At the canoe to run transition, there will be a water stop. There will be a timing mat next to the Speedy Feet truck. Make sure to run over the mat to register your canoe finish. Anything you don’t want to carry on the run throw in the back of the Speedy Feet truck. We’ll bring it back to the park for you.

On the run, because we want you to be able to hear volunteer instructions, we have a no headphone rule. It’s not because we are trying to be mean. It’s for your safety. There will be one water stop on the run course. There will be a mile marker sign at each mile. The course is marked with signs, chalk on the path and cones. In order to get the distance correct, there is an out and back section North of Linden Ave. Follow the cones and arrows and stay to the left of the cones.

When entering the run-to-bike transition area you will have to cross another timing mat. This entrance will be for runners coming in and for bikers heading out so be courteous. In transition, get your helmet on and again make sure to leave your headphones. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. There is NO RIDING in transition. You must run or walk your bike until after you cross the timing mat to leave transition.

On the bike course, there is NO DRAFTING except for with your teammate. This means no drafting for solo participants. There are no officials and no penalties so the drafting rules are on the honor system. You should keep at least three bike lengths between you and the next person to be considered not in the draft.

The bike course is about 10 miles. It is very flat and should be fast. There is a turn-around just before State Route 123 in Franklin. We will have an officer to control traffic and give you the right of way at the turn-around, but please be careful. Roads are open to traffic. We’ll have volunteers to help at the all the intersections. Please slow down at the finish. We need to see your number, get your chip back and most importantly, give you your well-deserved finisher’s medal.

A city pickup truck will travel behind the last cyclist. Mound Amateur Radio Association will provide communication along the bike route.

A few notes about after the race… solo participants will have to go to the canoe takeout to get your kayak or boat. We don’t want to be responsible for any damage caused in transit. Remember to get all of the things you brought… double check. Make sure if you threw something in the back of the truck at the canoe take-out that you have that. Make sure you have your running shoes, your bike helmet, etc…

After the race, we will have post-race food and refreshments. Take advantage, but also be mindful that there may be a lot of people that finish after you.

We will post results and pictures to our website (www.speedy-feet.com) as soon as we possibly can on Sunday afternoon/early evening. Be sure to check them out!

    Enjoy the event!
