Proceeds from the Ambulance Driver 5K support the operations, training, and lifesaving equipment of Derby’s Storm Engine Company Ambulance & Rescue Corps, proudly serving the community since 1948.

Join us for the 1st Annual Newtown Community Running Event, a fun and inspiring day for runners, walkers, families, and supporters from across the community—and home to Newtown’s first-ever half marathon.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, taking on the historic half marathon, enjoying a scenic walk, or simply coming out to support a great local event, this race is for everyone. With multiple race distances, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of community spirit, it’s the perfect way to get active together.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit Newtown Ambulance in honor of Greg Ritzinger, recognizing his service and dedication to the community.

Come run, walk, cheer, and be part of something special as we kick off what is sure to become a beloved annual tradition.

Celebrating 18 years of hope, healing, courage, and compassion. Since 2009, this non-competitive, family-friendly annual event has brought the community together for a meaningful walk/run through the Griffin Hospital neighborhood.

Opening Remarks and Award Presentation: 8:45 a.m.

Race Start Time: 9:00 a.m.

End Time: 12:00 p.m.
