    Packet Pick-Up

    You can pick up registration packets on Friday, April 10th from 4-7pm at packet pickup (River Bluff Brewery) or on the day of the race from 8-8:50AM at the race start location near Bode Ice Arena.

    Race Info

    The race will start in the parking lot across from Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway, St Joseph, MO 64503. Parking will be available in the Phil Welch Stadium parking lots, Rec Center or grassy lots across the street. This event is dog-friendly, so we greatly encourage you to bring your dog(s) to join you for the race, provided they are friendly with people and other dogs and have updated rabies vaccinations. Local businesses/organizations will have booths for participants to browse. The race will be chip timed by local business ShowMe Running Company with instant results and finish line photos. The race course is handicap accessible but has some areas of uphill incline. Participants will run/walk from the parking lot across from Bode Ice Arena along the scenic Southwest Parkway to Bartlett Park, then turn around at Bartlett Park and make their way back to the start line. There will be water and snacks at the start/finish area. Volunteers will also be handing out water to participants

    along the course during the race. Awards for first, second and third place for male and female participants in the following age groups will be given: 12 and under, 13 -19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+. Awards for first, second and third place dog finishers will be given as well!

    The Tulip Trot 5K is a benefit race to help support the Freudenthal Center for Parkinson's Disease, a non-profit organization that helps people with Parkinson's Disease (PD) fight its debilitating effects. All proceeds will go to help our various exercise programs in the form of new equipment and facility maintenance, along with providing the means to add new programs to the center, like cycling. Your entry fee will also help to fund our support group by allowing it to afford to purchase support materials that can be handed out at no cost to the participants.

    • The race will be held by the Remington Nature Center on Saturday, April 18th.

    • The Race will begin at 10 am.

    • Register by April 2nd to guarantee your event t-shirt. Event t-shirts must be picked up by the morning of the event.

    Unclaimed t-shirts will not be delivered after the race and will be given out to late registrants.

    • If you are doing the 1K walk, you may purchase a t-shirt for $15*.

    *$2 more for plus size t-shirts.

    The 5K will start & finish across from Phil Welch Stadium/Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway, St. Joseph MO 64503. The race will proceed through the SW Parkway over the trail bridge (Belt Highway) & return. Enjoy scenic spring-time views of the beautiful Fairview golf course and Parkway. Prepare to achieve your personal best on this 3.1 mile course. Chip timing provided by Show Me Running.

    The 2026 5K Run, Walk & Roll is for all ages & fitness levels. Our 1 mile Fun Walk & Roll is free to participate and geared towards anyone not wanting to do a full 5K. This course is from the parking lot across from Phil Welch to 22nd Street and back. Walk & Roll all or some, it’s up to you!

    Refreshments:

    There will be water and snacks at the start/finish area.

    Pets:

    Dogs are welcome, provided they are friendly, on a leash and have updated vaccinations.

    Chip Timing:

    The race will be chip timed by local business ShowMe Running Company with instant results and finish line photos.

    Location/Parking:

    All activities will be held in the parking lot across from Phil Welch Stadium/Bode Ice Arena. Restrooms will be available at Bode Ice Arena and Phil Welch Stadium. Parking is free and accessible. You may park in the Phil Welch Stadium parking lots, Rec Center or grassy areas across the street, weather permitting.

    Awards:

    Awards for first, second and third place for male and female participants in the following age groups will be given: 11 and under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Awards ceremony to be held at conclusion, you may pick up your award prior to the ceremony if necessary.

    Who are you helping?

    Helen Davis State School serves students ages 5 to 21 with significant developmental disabilities in St. Joseph and surrounding northwest counties. Students learn authentic skills in a safe environment to be productive and integrated into their home, community, leisure and work.

    Helen Davis PTO is a 501c3 organization supporting the unmet needs of Helen Davis School and this year we are working to raise money for a brand new fenced-in Sensory Garden. We plan to include raised garden beds for easy reach, clear paths for wheelchairs and walking, sensory items such as wind chimes and fountains, and flowers/plants our students can smell and touch All levels of support are appreciated to help us reach our goal!

    The Apple Blossom 5K run/walk will kick off the annual Apple Blossom Parade. In addition to a traditional 5K race, this year's event will include additional events for teams to test their functional fitness as well as endurance.

    In the spirit of CrossFit, teams may enter to traverse the 3.1 mile course.

    • Tandem Run - Teams of 2 (male/male, female/female or co-ed) The pair of runners must remain together, completing the course holding a resistance band

    • Heavy Burden Run - Teams of 4 (all male, all female or co-ed team) The team must complete the course sharing the burden of carrying one heavy sandbag per team to the finish line. 70 lb. sandbag for male teams. 50 lb. sandbag for female teams. 50 lb. sandbag for co-ed teams.

    The Apple Blossom 5k+ is a fundraiser to benefit Sisters of Solace, a community of hospitality and healing for women survivors or trauma, human trafficking and addiction.
