Called "The Land of Many Uses," the Allegheny National Forest is known for its diverse recreational offerings like hiking, boating, swimming, and biking. Experience what National Geographic calls "one of America’s most scenic drives" on PA Route 6 and make the Kinzua Half Marathon your race destination this summer.

    Half Marathon Race Information

    Experience this one-of-a-kind, destination half marathon in the Allegheny National Forest. All participants receive a performance shirt, commemorative finisher medal, personalized bib, and free race photos! Water stations at will be available along the course. Refreshments provided at the finish.

    This race will be disposable bib chip timed with live online results. The course time limit is 4 hours (18 min per mile). Registration fees and donations support the Mt. Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Trail Club (MJ2KB) to help support further development of the Knox to Kane trail.

    Start Location: Intersection of Hacker St. & Guffey Rd. in the town of Mt. Jewett

    Awards will be given to the Top 3 overall male and female finishers in Open & Masters plus the top 3 finishers in each of the following categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over.

    5K Race Information

    Saturday evening 5K race starting at 7:00. All participants receive a performance shirt, commemorative finisher medal, personalized bib, and free race photos! Water station prior to the turnaround. Refreshments provided at the finish.

    This race will be disposable bib chip timed with live online results. The course time limit is 1.5 hours (approx. 14:30/mile). Race registration fees and donations support the Mt. Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Trail Club (MJ2KB) to help support further development of the Knox to Kane trail.

    The 2025 Kinzua Bridge Challenge 10K, 5K,1 Mile, and 2 Mile Walk will be a staggered start beginning at 9:00 am on Sunday, August 11th. The races start at the Center Street Trailhead on the Mt Jewett to Kinzua Bridge Rails to Trails. The course is out and back for each race. The proceeds benefit the Swedish Festival Association who partner with the Mount Jewett Community to host one of the largest festival in the county.

    The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival Association will allocate the proceeds of the race to benefit the Penn York Oil and Gas Scholarship held at the University of Pittsburgh the Bradford Campus. This scholarship supports students in the Energy Science majors. Proceeds exceeding the scholarship donation will be distributed for the purpose of promoting economic development, education, innovation and community revitalization in and around the Mount Jewett area.

    AWARDS:

    There will be finisher medals at the finish line.

    T-shirts for all who pre-register by July 13th, 2026. Race day registration 8:00-8:45 am. The race starts at 9:00 am.

    All races use the same course. There will be personnel on the trail to turn the racers accordingly.

    2026 TAJR Fest Shuttle Schedule

    Friday: TOTAL 5 shuttles

    buses = 2 | vans = 3

    9 am - Noon:

    2 full-size buses will begin a shuttle service from Kinzua Beach to the Jakes Trailhead.

    3 vans will begin a shuttle service from the Dewdrop campground entrance at Longhouse Drive to Jake's Trailhead.

    Noon to 6:00 pm:

    1 full-size bus will continue to shuttle from Kinzua Beach to Jake's Trailhead.

    1 full-size bus will shuttle from Kinzua Beach with stops at Kinzua Point Information Center, Bent Run trailhead at Route 59, Devils Elbow entry at Route 59 to Jake's Trailhead.

    3 vans will shuttle from the Elijah boat launch and Dewdrop campground entrance to Jake’s Trailhead.

    Saturday: TOTAL 5 shuttles
