This winter, saddle up for The Jailbreak, an outlaw-style adventure race set in the wild terrain around Lake Georgetown. Whether you're a greenhorn or a seasoned desperado, this race will test your mettle with paddling, trekking, and biking through Texas grasslands, thick brush, and flatwater lake crossings.

But don’t expect a marked trail or a friendly cattle drive—this ain’t no Sunday stroll. You’ll be navigating by map and compass, just like Texas in the old days. GPS? That’s for city folk; leave it at home.

Teams of 2–4 outlaws can ride in Male, Female, or Mixed Outlaw categories. Solo riders must get the sheriff’s approval and prove they’ve survived past adventures. A special bounty goes to the top Senior Outlaw Gang (all members age 50+).

If you’re new to the outlaw life or just looking to make a quick getaway, the Sheriff’s Sprint is your ticket to freedom. This 6-hour course is built for greenhorns and fast-moving bandits alike, with clear trails and easy-to-spot landmarks guiding your escape. You’ll ride on pavement and beginner-friendly trails, trek through open terrain, and paddle calm waters—all under the watchful eye of the Texas sun. For those looking to push the pace, optional checkpoints offer a chance to earn extra glory. Navigation is light, speed is king, and the whole race wraps up before sundown. It’s a perfect way to dip your boots into the world of adventure racing without getting lost in the wild.

Now, if you’re the kind of racer who thrives on grit, dust, and the unknown, the Outlaw Extreme is where legends are made. This 12-hour gauntlet will test your team’s strength, smarts, and survival instincts from dawn ‘til dusk. You’ll ride single-track and rugged jeep roads, trek through thorn-choked forests and wide-open prairie, and paddle into the hidden arms of Lake Georgetown where cliff bands and caves await. The checkpoints won’t be hidden, but they sure won’t be easy—you will have to earn every point. As the sun sets, you’ll need your lanterns out to light the way to the finish. It’s a challenge fit for outlaws who ride hard, think fast, and aim to etch their names into the wild Texas lore.

    The FOURTH ever Leander Band 5k will be held on Saturday, April 25th!!! The mission of the race is to assist in fundraising efforts for the internationally-decorated Leander HS Band Program. Registration is open to any and all ages, and prizes will be awarded in several categories. Race registration includes a commemorative t-shirt (up to a certain registration date) and access to post race snacks! The course takes you on a tour of our campus, surrounded by the music of our young musicians.

    After you finish the race, you will be treated to displays and giveaways from all of our sponsors and local vendors on the stadium turf!

    A FREE Kiddie K (400m) will take place prior to the start of the 5k. The Kiddie K is open to any child 10 years or younger and is an untimed lap around the track for fun! Because it is free, there is no additional registration or swag associated with the Kiddie K, any who wish to participate will get called to the line at 8:00 am!

    Limited financial resources, lack of access to youth sports programs, social isolation, and barriers to healthy lifestyle activities are just some of the challenges young people face in accessing running programs. Through HKRS Cedar Park's 5-week fall and spring running series, and having a supportive community presence, HKRS Cedar Park helps kids build confidence, develop healthy habits, and overcome obstacles to active living. HKRS Cedar Park is part of a nationally recognized organization. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit it offers registration assistance to ensure all children can participate regardless of their family's financial situation, and anyone can access their programs including families new to running. All of their programs are welcoming, inclusive, and tailored to each individual child's age and ability level. Your money helps to do this.
