Join us to run, or walk, our beautiful 5k race route in Westbrook.

Westbrook Public Schools PTO is proud to present this community wide event to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle in our town while raising money for young students at our district's schools! The race will feature family friendly activities, food and awards for each division. Thank you in advance for joining our community event and supporting the youth of Westbrook!

Course Description: USATF certified course (License#149019) begins at Daisy Ingraham elementary school and proceeds down a hill to Boston Post Road. Runners take a right onto Boston Post Rd. and proceed onto Seaside Avenue by taking a left. Picturesque views of Long Island Sound as the race continues on Seaside Avenue to the turnaround point. Race reverses and finishes back at Daisy.

The Kids Fun Run kicks off behind the school at 9:30am. Thank you to our good friends at the Valley Shore YMCA for organizing and running this fun event! It's a great way to get the whole family involved!

Entry

  • Online entry - $33 (before 3/15/2026), thereafter $38. (Prices include race entry and processing fees)
  • Registration is via online entry only. Registration closes at 9:30 am 3/21/2026
  • Kids Fun Run - $10 (Register online only. Registration closes at 9:00 am 3/21/2026)

Race Shirts

  • Race shirts are available to all 5K and Kids Fun Run participants for an additional fee of $5

  • Shirts must be ordered before 3/1/2026

  • A limited number of race shirts will be available for purchase on race day

Parking

We encourage all participants to carpool, as parking onsite fills up quickly. Volunteers will be onsite to help direct parking in the following locations:

  • Daisy Ingraham School front parking lot.

  • Westbrook Public Library UPPER parking lot ONLY - the bottom lot is reserved for library patrons.

  • Along the side of the road leading into Daniel Wren Park.

  • Oxford Academy parking lot on Route 1.

Race Schedule

  • Advance packet pick-up at Marathon Sports, Old Saybrook on Friday March 20, 2026.

  • Registration opens - 8:00 am

  • Kids Fun Run start - 9:30 am

  • 5K Run / Walk start - 10:00 am

  • Post race activities:

  • We will have kids activities.

  • Bring a little extra cash to grab a quick burst of energy from our bake sale or enter our raffle for a chance to win some great prizes donated by our sponsors!

  • Our awards ceremony will take place near the school entrance shortly following the 5K. Please stick around to cheer on our star runners! We will be drawing our raffle winners at this time, as well.

    The Ivoryton Pumpkin Chase is a 5K Road/Trail Race and a Kiddie Pumpkin Fun Run (age 7 and below) to benefit the Ivoryton Library and takes place in peak foliage season of southern New England. The course begins along North Main Street for approximately ½ mile before turning left down Falls River Drive. At the one mile mark, the course enters the Falls River Preserve for a 1.1 mile trail loop that meanders along the Falls River. The trail is double track for about ½ mile before it turns into hilly and rocky single track. Care must be taken on the trail due to the presence some jagged rocks and roots. Please be aware that the trail can be slippery in wet conditions.

    Participants will receive a free t-shirt with registration before September 18. Registrations after September 18 and day of registrations will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.
