KIDS OF STEEL PROGRAM 2026 - 2027

Kids of STEEL

Kids of STEEL is P3R’s free training program that helps motivate kids and their families to get moving. The program is unique – an official race provides a tangible goal for kids to work toward – and is currently available in more than 300 schools and community organizations in western Pennsylvania.

As part of this award-winning program, kids complete at least 25 training miles with their team in preparation for a family-friendly P3R event. Then they get to celebrate their hard work and join Pittsburgh’s dynamic running community.

• This Kids of STEEL Program registration is for participation at your site's practices. To register for the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon you must complete a separate registration here.

parkrun is such a simple concept: turn up every Saturday and volunteer, walk, jog or run 5k.

Last Day to guarantee your shirt size is Sept 27th. After that first come first to get the shirts !!

Proceeds support deserving medical students training to brave the front-lines everywhere.

Young and old…avid racers or exercise trotters, or just plain scenic strollers…and where all participants are encouraged to disguise themselves in their favorite Halloween-themed getups! Why? Because fantastic giveaways await clever, cute and cool costume wearers: scariest, funniest and most original. Shy about donning a costume? We understand…everyone’s a winner really, so take comfort knowing each participant receives medals and some cool race bling regardless.

All participants receive the unique "Jumbo Jack" pumpkin medal and other cool swag...separate category awards too for those who come in costume and disguise...So Don't Wait!

Race will be timed by Miles of Smiles Timing complete with a disposable chip on the bib number.
