    🏃‍♂️ Parkinson's Wellness Walk ⚾

For over 200 years, Parkinson Disease has been steadily growing—and recently, at an alarming rate. It is now the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world. In the U.S., Florida has the highest number of cases per capita, with over 79,000 individuals affected, contributing to the 1 million cases nationwide and 10 million globally. That number is projected to rise to 12.9 million by 2040.

Parkinson’s is a chronic, progressive, and complex multi-system disorder with no known cure. While often classified as a movement disorder, it affects much more than just physical movement, impacting mental, emotional, and autonomic functions as well.

The Lee Health Parkinson Program has served over 4,500 individuals in our community and currently supports nearly 2,000 people. Our mission is to provide hope and critical resources to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of living with Parkinson’s. Offering, at no cost personalized support, education, movement and exercise classes, enrichment groups, and social activities to help improve quality of life. Until there is a cure, there is a community—one that stands together to ensure no one faces Parkinson’s alone.

Join us for the Parkinson's 5K & Wellness Walk, benefiting the Lee Health Parkinson Program, as we come together to raise awareness and funds for local Parkinson’s support initiatives. This exciting event takes place at Lee Health Sports Park, Hammond Field, right after spring training, making it the perfect way to enjoy a day at the ballpark while supporting a great cause!

Cardio Kidz is BACK THIS SPRING in Fort Myers!

Our very first Florida series this January was a great success spreading the mission to 63 inspiring runners. We are so excited for the community to come together and do all again this April!

Join us for a three (3) week running series for kids ages 2-14 of ALL ABILITIES. Each race takes place once a week on Sunday and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 100-yard dashes, 1/4-mile, 1/2-mile and 1-mile run. Kids can register to run UP in distance for a greater challenge. An Alternate 1/4-mile race is available for 2nd-8th graders who are looking for a shorter distance.

In addition to the physical benefits of running, the program aims to build social-emotional skills. The Cardio Kidz environment is great for the seasoned runner and also those who may never run before. We will focus on the word COURAGEOUS in age-appropriate discussions before each race and will track weekly progress to promote goal setting and increase self-confidence. The emphasis of this series is on self-improvement vs. heavy competition with others. We realize that accomplishments look different for everyone, and it is our goal for every participant to make big strides and have FUN while doing so!

Pricing: $35 registration fee includes: Three (3) Weeks of Races, three (3) Race Bibs, Cardio Kidz Cooling Headband, Goal Tracker Sheet, Weekly Progress Report and Finisher Medal.

    $5 Sibling Discount.

    Registration is non-refundable.
