New for 2026: we will be moving to Age Group Starts

As race day approaches, each age group will be assigned:

    • A corral time

    • A start time

Age groups will be seeded based on estimated 300-yard swim time. This format not only creates a more competitive and engaging race experience—especially as a USAT National Qualifier—but also helps reduce crowding on the pool deck and improves overall flow.

We expect the start process to remain smooth, with a similar cadence to past years and only minimal breaks between groups.

Race Day Schedule – Saturday, May 30, 2026:

5:00–6:30 AM – Packet pickup & bike racking

    6:30–7:30 AM – Swim warm-ups (pool opens)

7:45 AM – Transition area closes (regardless of age group start time)

8:00 AM – Race begins (staggered swim starts every 5-10 seconds, racers ordered by 300-yard swim time w/in their age group)

The Watsontown JesVic 5K was started in 2007 by Shannon (Hoffman) Pyles and Suzie (Wade) Watts to honor two community women, Jessica Wade and Vicki Hitesman, who both passed away from cancer. Jessica was a blue-eyed, athletic 20-year-old, a graduate of Warrior Run High School, who pursued a college degree. Among her many goals was to run a marathon someday. The other—a former nurse who touched the lives of the patients and their families from her early days at Williamsport Hospital and Kramm’s Nursing Home. She was a survivor of Hodgkin’s disease. Her youngest son played baseball, her oldest ran cross country at Warrior Run. Vicki and her husband (who is also a runner) supported the cross-country team, and all their sons’ endeavors.

Both had touched the lives of those in their community and in their workplace. We hope this race will continue that legacy.

The money raised supports local families with members facing disease and struggling with the resulting medical bills. In its first 15 years, the 5K has raised more than $60,000 with the support of sponsor businesses, donations, volunteers, runners, walkers, spectators and friends. The JesVic organizers, and those supported by the funds, are forever grateful.

Whether you want to swim or kayak, we have the sprint-distance race for you. Both races start at 8 am Saturday, June 27th. The swimmers start 750m upstream and the kayakers start in the river at the transition area. After the 750m downstream swim or the 5k kayak loop, racers will ride a 10.6 mile bike course followed by a 5k run. We have one, central transition area at the Lockport Boat Launch--a truly beautiful spot for family and friends to cheer you on! In addition to deciding if you will race the swim tri or the adventure tri, when registering, you must decide if you want to race individually or with a relay team. The system is set up so that each relay team member will register separately, but using the same team name. Once your first team member registers, the others will find the team name on the dropdown menu of existing team names. If you are the first, you will get to type in your team's name. 2-person and 3-person relay teams will compete against each other within the same tri

type and gender division, but they are listed separately at registration due to the different fee schedules. Relay teams can be All Female, All Male, or Mixed Gender. The top three teams in each gender category for each race will receive awards. All participants completing the course individually will register for either the swim or adventure option (no need to enter a "team name." For each race, the top male and female, in addition to the top three males and females in each of the following age groups will receive awards: under 21, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, & 70 and over. "Recovery" food will be provided for participants after the race. Registration includes either a long-sleeved, super soft race shirt or a cool athletic towel, your choice. Safety Note: PFDs must be worn while in your boat, and helmets must be worn while on your bike. The bike course is on open roads, so no headphones/earbuds may be worn while on that leg of the race.
