The Sterling Police Department is hosting our 4th annual Run For the Badge 5K. This is a FREE event but donations will be accepted at the door for C.O.P.S. (Concerns Of Police Survivors). The event will begin and end at the Sterling Township Building located at 505 W. Lynn Blvd in Sterling. Strollers and well-mannered dogs are welcome. Please note that this is a community event and is not an officially timed race. The first 100 people to register will receive a free t-shirt. Water and a snack will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there!

    Bag / Key Check

    There will be a bag check in for race participants. You will find this inside the Red Barn. NAMI Sauk Area is NOT responsible for any items checked.

    Pets & Strollers

    Pets are not allowed on the race course during the race and warm-ups of the NAMI Sauk Area 5K. Strollers are allowed with walkers in the race. Please allow the runners to lead the pack, followed by walkers, followed by walkers with strollers.

    Food Tent

    A boxed lunch will be provided along with water to all participants. The food will be prepared and wrapped by a licensed restaurant kitchen.

    Weather Plan

    If there is severe weather during the race, please seek shelter in one of the pavilions in Sinnissippi Park or the Red Barn and Hoover Park. If the race needs to be cancelled due to weather, it will be posted on the Facebook page (NAMI Sauk Area 5K) and an e-mail will be sent out to all registered participants.

    Set in the beautiful town of Rock Falls, Illinois, the Sauk Valley Apple Cider Run Half Marathon, sponsored by 7:24 Fitness on the Rock, is perfect for runners of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just starting out on your fitness journey, the challenging yet scenic course will keep you motivated and engaged from start to finish.

    Starting and ending at Selmi’s Greenhouse and Farm Market, participants will be treated to gorgeous views of the local countryside, including rolling hills and picturesque farmland. The 13.17-mile course is carefully designed to provide a challenging yet rewarding experience for runners, with an elevation gain of 353 feet and two key segments that test your strength and endurance.
