The Rat Race was started in honor of US Navy SEAL Tom Ratzlaff of Green Forest, AR. This event remembers the 31 heroes lost on 8-6-2011 during Extortion 17.

Race will start and end at Green Forest School in Green Forest, Arkansas.

Runners must check in from 7:00am to 7:45 A.M. Opening Ceremony at 7:45. Race will start at 8:06 A.M.

Although this is a 5k, if running is not your thing, you are more than welcome to complete the race at any pace comfortable to you. For the competitive runners, Awards to the Top 3 Male and Females. Certificates to the following age groups: 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.

Cost is $30.00 per entry.

Sign up a team of 4 or more and receive a $10 discount on your registration.

Proceeds from this race will benefit the Ratzlaff Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Good Grief Programs in area schools.

This is a fund raiser for a non-profit organization, no refunds will be given for cancelation due to weather.

    The Branson Veterans of America 913 is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to support all American veterans, focusing on helping veterans and their families from all areas of service. We do this by:

    1. Promoting honor to all who have patriotically served our country in any of the Armed Forces of the United States of America through organization and support of public gatherings and ceremonies.

    2. Supporting education of patriotism, duties of citizenship, and honor of our Flag through the organization’s scholarship program, support and encouragement of local educational institutions for patriotic education, and individual conduct within the communities.

    3. Assisting fellow veterans and their families through physical and economic response to special needs, encouragement and support for a healthy lifestyle, and a sense of community.

    4. Working in partnership with local government and private agencies to assure an environment for safe and secure living for all veterans and their families.

    Packet Pickup Friday 5-7pm. Race day registration from 6:00 to 6:30am. (Located at the beginning of the running trail)

    Half Marathon will begin at 6:45am – 5K will begin at 7:30am

    Race Course: Dewey Short Visitors Center to Lakeshore Trail to State Park Marina

    (Asphalt surfaced trail)

    Fast, out & back course; with a scenic view of Table Rock Lake every step of the way!

    • 5K will be one loop of 3.1 miles & Half Marathon is 3 loops of 4.36 miles each

    We encourage participants to join us in our efforts to raise funds for the support of our mission. See the fundraising tab on this website. We will present the runners whose fundraising income for the each of the races are the highest with a $25 store discount certificate at Fleet Feet Springfield.

    Awards for each race: Trophies to Overall Male & Female; Overall Masters Male & Female (40 and above)

    Age group awards (Male & Female) 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

    All participants receive a finisher’s medal.

    Awards for 5K will be at 8:30am, Half Marathon awards will be after the last runner comes across the finish line.

    All race proceeds will go to the Local Branson BVA 913 Chapter. (All payments are final, no refunds are allowed.)

    The 5k is one loop, Fun Run Mile is on the Landing down and back

    TEAMS.......If you want to make a team ( 5K ONLY ) Runners must be paid 5k runners ..... (Online) team captain will pay team fee, then runners can add to that team... ( captain must tell team members team name and password ) For new runners signing up on race day once you have entered into the race you will be given a bib number you will claim your team...Team captain will fill out form with team name and runners bib numbers ...takes at least 5 runners to complete a team. A team can be all the same gender or mixed. To claim a team is $40.00 for the team paid by captain. Already paid 5k runners can join team ... Team Trophy and fireworks as award. Come join us for our 3 and 6 mile runs at Top of the Rock in Ridgedale, MO where you will challenge your endurance and mental grit while experiencing exhilarating, scenic views you won't find anywhere else. The 6-mile course is one of the most challenging, rewarding runs you will ever complete. Best for experienced runners, this course was not designed to be someone’s first 6 mile run. While most of this course is asphalt, be prepared to run over several different surfaces including, but not limited to, gravel, road, trail, wet rock, metal bridge(s), water and dirt. While this course is hilly and challenging, participants will experience waterfalls, a cave, scenic overlooks and absolutely beautiful surroundings. Spectators will have limited viewing options along the course. The best spots to cheer for your runners will be at the start and finish lines.
