    The GASP is back!

Originally created in the late 1970s by a group of cyclists who shared a love of long rides and great Texas beer, the GASP became a beloved Texas cycling tradition. Now it returns as the Greater Area Shiner Pedal.

The Greater Area Shiner Pedal (GASP) is a ride, not a race, built for cyclists who want to enjoy the open roads, the charm of small-town Shiner, and the camaraderie that makes great rides memorable.

Participants can choose from three distances: 100 miles, 50 miles, or 25 miles, making it perfect for seasoned riders and casual cyclists alike.

Whether youโ€™re chasing the full century or just enjoying a relaxed ride with friends, the Greater Area Shiner Pedal is all about great roads, great people, and a great day on the bike.

Join us in Shiner and be part of the return of a Texas classic.

Legacy 100 is a ride through mostly back roads in the beautiful painted churches area of Texas, with our beneficiary being the Alzheimerโ€™s Association (via Ride to End ALZ - Texas). We have multiple distances to choose from and a staggered start based on distance. There will be fresh kolaches and locally-brewed coffee before the ride (while supplies last). After the ride, a meal will be provided for all riders/volunteers, and we'll have some games such as cornhole for folks that want to relax and play.

***This is a ride, not a race, there will be no chip-timing (so as maximize money going towards life-extending research) or awards. However, all riders will receive a recognition item (TBD) of their completion of the ride.

Riders are welcome to drop down in distance on ride day free of charge, just make sure you download the correct route (as route arrows can sometimes be moved or vandalized). Riders moving up in distance will need to change their registration and pay the difference in cost (Please be honest and do this, this is for charity y'all!).

The deadline to registe and be guaranteed a meal is 05/20/2026. We will have day-of registration, but we cannot guarantee a meal. You'll need to stop by the check-in table after you finish to see if we have extra meal tickets.
