✯ Complete as many or as few laps as you prefer. The choice is yours!

WHAT MAKES RED WHITE & RUCK SPECIAL?

Red, White & Ruck strives to unite the military community, Gold and Blue-Star Families, and our civilian population to pay tribute to our fallen heroes.

  • 2-Hour Time Trial - Military Style Ruck March Race

  • Closed course.

  • Every participant will be given a bib containing the name of a fallen service member to ruck in their honor and memory.

SUPPORTING GOLD STAR & SURVIVING FAMILIES

The event's proceeds will fund our Enduring Heroes Program, which grants Gold Star family members the opportunity to partake in our annual "active" retreat at the Bataan Memorial Death March. During the retreat, they can honor their loved ones by conquering a challenging 14—or 26.2-mile march through the high desert at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The course for this event is a short loop, structured as a time trial criterium.

  • The loop will be about about 3/4 of a mile long.

  • You will do as many laps as possible within the three-hour time limit.

  • There will be a staging area where you check in after each lap and tag off to your teammate.

  • You can also grab food and drinks and hang out while waiting for your teammate.

  • You may bring your preferred nutrition, but we will also have a supply of water and snacks in the staging area. All items must be outside of your pack and in clear bags.
  • Your team will be given a punch card – this is how we count completed laps.

  • Everyone except for the honorary member must carry a backpack or a weighted vest.

EVENT CATEGORIES

Everyone is welcome to participate in all divisions, regardless of age, gender, or fitness level.

  • Competitive Solo Ruck

Lace up those running shoes and dust off your boogie shoes for the 2nd annual Live Like Jack 5K and 1Mile Kids run followed by a post race dance party and arm wrestling competition.

    Why are we doing this?

Our son, Jack was born with a birth defect called bilateral clubfoot which, if left untreated, can impair a child's ability to run, jump and play. Jack also has arthrogryposis and limb differences, which effect his upper extremities and joints.

Through our journey we realized that treatment for these conditions can be costly so we are raising funds to assist families with the cost of care associated with treatments, travel, therapies and adaptive equipment.

All funds raised through the Live Like Jack 5k will benefit awareness, research, treatment and management of clubfoot and other musculoskeletal conditions and limb differences. We also donate and support adaptive athletes and those with limb differences and musculoskeletal conditions in activities of sport and fitness.

Last year our proceeds went to Miracle Flights and Children's flight of hope to fly clubfoot and limb different children to treatment and surgeries. We also donated to Able Youth a non profit helping child wheelchair users navigate sports and daily living as well as Hope Walks a charity that treats clubfoot kids in low-income countries. This year we will be donating to Achilles International and other charities that align with our values.

We aim to support EVERYONE--including those with disabilities, impairments and differences-- in their journey to run, jump, play and ultimately LIVE like Jack.

We were told when Jack was a baby that he would "never be normal" and we say.... maybe "normal" isn't all it's cracked up to be.

IN A WORLD OF NORMAL, EMBRACE YOUR DIFFERENCES!

SWAG: All participants receive a top quality tee and fun finisher medal!

Walkers, children and pets welcome and encouraged!! Or make a donation and come hang out with us :)
