10k 15k 1k 25k 50k 5k Gravel Road Run Swim Track Trail Ultra Virtual Walk

The Run The Caves Ultra and Trail race is hosting its 3rd Annual race event for Body and Mind Adventures. The goals of the Mind & Body (BAM) Organization committee are to provide a race that is accessible to all athletes & raises awareness for CMHA – Canadian Mental Health Association. A portion of all registration fees will be donated to CMHA.

Working with the Otonabee Conservation Areas staff, our volunteers, and all our sponsors, we promote the importance of maintaining the environment and being a responsible event organizer. We are a green organization that promotes green initiatives and being environmentally friendly. This is a cup-free event.

Terrain: Sweet single track, soft forest floor, rocks and tree roots (careful), some sandy beach, and just a handful of gravel roads to keep you focused!

Views: Some wide open for amazing views! Mostly covered under large, old forest growth trees. We call this “forest bathing”!

Why race Run The Caves? To feel deeply connected – to yourself, fellow runners, and the Earth.

And… no other trail races are offered here. Even stay and camp for the weekend if you can brave the cooler Fall temperatures and colourful beauty!

Distances Offered: 1km Kids Run, 5km Walk/Run, 10km Walk/Run, 25km, 50km (plus a 15km Virtual Run). *NEW - Team/Duo Events for 25km and 50km.

This is a bib & chip-timed event!

Run The Caves Trail Race & Ultra takes place in Warsaw Caves Conservation Area, which is nestled in the Indian River valley. This beautiful wooded setting is located just 25 minutes outside of Peterborough.

Warsaw Caves offers a range of recreational opportunities that the entire family can enjoy. Recreational facilities and services within the park include swimming, fishing, camping, day-use picnic sites, and of course, hiking trails. Twenty kilometers (20+ kms) of mostly single-track trails meander through forests and across open limestone plains. From any of the scenic lookouts, you can view the Indian River and valley. Along the Lookout Trail you’ll also see potholes, kettles, and hear the trickle of the disappearing river beneath the rocks.

Help BAM make this another year of Run The Caves a safe, fun and successful one. Prizes for top male and female in each distance category. Hand-made race medals for all participants! And a few other surprises!

New this year - merchandise for purchase as part of the Registration process (and again on race day, to commemorate your Run The Caves participation and further contribute to CMHA. Head buffs, trucker hats, socks, t-shirts and more.

Following each race distance, winners will be announced, as well, my Vegetarian Chili and buns will return for the 3rd year to warm everyone up at the Finish Line!

*The cut-off time is 3 hours 30 minutes after the start of the half marathon.

    Race Kit / Bib Numbers

Everyone MUST have a bib number and timing chip in order to take part in the event. This comes with your registration and pick up locations are listed below.

Race day Kit Pick up is available ONLY for those who have purchased the VIP Kit Pick Up Ticket through race roster (available through the "store" link)

Mail out race kits are also available for those who wish to get their bib mailed to them. People who choose this option will pick up their event T-shirt on race day. This option can be purchased through race roster during registration or through the "store" link afterwards.

    Three Options for Kit Pick-up

    Lindsay - Monday June 8 4:00 - 7:00 pm @ Crossfit Lindsay, 205 St George Street, Lindsay

    Toronto - Thursday June 11 4:00 - 7:00 pm @ Culture Athletics, 972 Queen St E, Toronto

Fenelon Falls - Saturday June 13 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, Location TBD

You may arrange for a friend to pick up your kit for you, provided you signed your waiver when you registered and you have given them permission by email (that they can show us) to pick up for you.

    Aid Stations

There will be aid stations serving water and XACT electrolyte drink approximately every 2.5 - 3.0 km on the course. There will be no gels or other nutrition available. Runners should carry their own nutrition and deposit any garbage at the aid stations. Please do not leave your garbage on the road or anywhere else along the course - the community supports this event and we want to keep it that way. Be respectful and keep your garbage on you until you get to an aid station, where you can dispose it. Portable toilets will be available at each aid station and at the half marathon turn around.

    Race Day Parking

DO NOT TRY AND DRIVE RIGHT TO THE RACE SITE. You may be stuck and not be able to get out. Park off site and walk in.

Option A - A generous amount of parking is available on race day at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre, 27 Veterans Way, Fenelon Falls, K0M 1N0. It is a 20 minute walk to Garnet Graham Beach Park, past White Cottage Cafe and Tim Hortons and over the bridge with a spectacular view of the famous falls over Lock #34.

Option B & C - There are a few lots available in the ‘downtown’ area of Fenelon Falls closer to Garnet Graham Beach Park with access off Francis Street or Bond Street, and some street parking. Traffic may become backed up along these streets so be patient. Please do NOT try to access the parking at Garnet Graham Beach Park or drop off runners by passing through as the lot is reserved for crew, volunteers, race vehicles and vendors.

Note: Do NOT try and access Garnet Graham Park via Water Street. Sometimes your GPS will take you that way - Water Street is a DEAD END and you CANNOT park there - and you may get stuck in there as there is not much space to turn around and have traffic going both ways. So do NOT turn onto Water Street in Fenelon Falls at any time.

Please expect a LOT of traffic coming into town on race day and plan to arrive EARLY and stay calm.

    Hotels

There are many types of accommodations in the Fenelon Falls and Lindsay area. There are hotels, cottage resorts, and cottage rentals.

For more information see our website:

    https://enduranceeventproductions.com/

Cancellation Policy: No cancellations or refunds. If there is a government or public health order that causes the event to be canceled or a weather or other reason that forces cancellation, you may do the race as a virtual event. There will be no deferrals or refunds. Transfers between distances or to another runners are allowed until June 5, 2025 and can be done though the “transfer” link on the race roster page. There will be a $5.00 administration fee for transfer.

    Weather Policy:

Safety always comes first, and Athletics Ontario sets rules and policies that outline when an event must be delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather. In the case of inclement weather that forces our race directors to cancel an event, there will be no refunds. In the case of a weather cancellation, by that time a large portion of the race fees have already been allocated. Registered participants will still receive your swag bag and race shirt. Thank you for understanding these policies.

    Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Sometimes you just feel like running.

The Northumberland Run Forest Run will give you a chance to move your legs through some beautiful forest trails.

You can pick one of 4 options.

You can run The Jenny which is a 4 hour run that happens on a 3K loop. You love the loop so much you visit it again and again and again. Challenge yourself to see how many Jennys you can complete in 4 hours. Each lap will make the trail so familiar you'll feel right at home! You and the trail will go together like peas and carrots.

If you are looking for a different challenge, you can do The Lieutenant Dan. This run explores a wonderful 7.5K loop. You may need some magic legs to help with some of those steep hills. You will run one loop as fast as you can.

We also have the Benjamin Buford Blue, but people just call it The Bubba. A fantastic 9K loop that should get you well acquainted with the forest. You may choose to run this one with your best friend and talk about all the ways you can enjoy a day in the forest. You can run, you can walk, you can stroll, you can ….. The Bubba is a one loop run.

And for no particular reason, you may decide to go for a little longer run. You can complete one loop of the Jenny. And when you get done, you can do a loop of the Lieutenant Dan. And when you finish that, you run the Bubba. And you may figure, since you ran this far, maybe you should run to Lookout Mtn using an out-and-back route for a total of 24.6K. And at the end, you may find yourself pretty tired, but happy to know you just completed The FULL GUMP.

This event is self-supported. Participants are responsible for their own nutrition and water. No marshals are on course. Participants are expected to be self-supported.Participants may wish to carry a cell phone or sounding device (i.e. whistle) to access help if they need to access help. Aid is available at the start area (Location 50 - see map).

For the safety of participants, no dogs are allowed in the race.

If you want to add some extra fun, dress for the occasion in your best Forest Gump inspired attire and you may walk away with the trophy for the Gumpiest person at the run.

Most of the trails (Purple Finch, Black Oak, and Sweet Fern) are free from motorized vehicles. Vehicles have access to some of the trails, such as going up to the Lookout. You may encounter a vehicle, but trail etiquette comes into play. You hear them coming and you just step to the side. Usually a friendly wave is exchanged.

We are unable to offer refunds. There are lots of costs involved in running an event that are paid out before the event occurs and cannot be recouped by the organizers. You may be able to transfer your entry if you inform us within a reasonable amount of time.

Northumberland Run Forest Run happily supports

    St. John Ambulance

We are always pleased to be able to make a donation to St. John Ambulance and appreciate their presence and support at our event.
