Founded in Manchester in July 2022 by Jimi and led by captain Alex, Keep On Keeping On is a welcoming running crew born from the challenges of pandemic lockdowns. Inspired by running’s power to support mental health, the crew quickly grew to about 180 members who meet every Tuesday evening at Joule MCR for inclusive 5-kilometre runs through the city’s energetic streets and green spaces. Rooted in inclusivity, the group encourages runners of all abilities to share steady-paced runs that emphasize companionship over competition. Beyond urban routes, the crew’s “Keep On Rambling On” initiative connects members with nature through countryside hikes, blending physical challenge with mental refreshment. Committed to mental health advocacy, Keep On Keeping On partners with the charity Mind Over Mountains and organizes events like ultra marathons that highlight endurance and solidarity. Set against Manchester’s rich industrial heritage and vibrant running scene, the crew embodies resilience and community, offering a supportive space to keep moving forward together.
