The TedDriven Overland Ultra Relay (TOUR)

    Rediscover the Joy of Running

    What is the TOUR?

Remember when running was pure joy—when it was about the adventure, the camaraderie, and the simple thrill of moving through the world? The TedDriven Overland Ultra Relay (TOUR) brings back that old-school spirit with an epic three-day stage relay race through the stunning landscapes of North Central Washington.

Designed for teams of up to eight runners, the TOUR blends competitive racing with an adventurous, low-tech experience. No chip timing. No digital maps. Just you, your teammates, and a rugged course marked by singletrack trails, logging roads, and scenic pavement.

Each day, your team will tackle approximately 75 miles divided into 16 legs, navigating with printed maps and elevation guides. Whether you’re chasing a podium finish or just out for the experience, you’ll be part of something unforgettable—an event that is as much about community and adventure as it is about speed.

    Why a Stage Race?

Unlike point-to-point relays with overnight runs and risky nighttime driving, the stage race format ensures safety, camaraderie, and the best routes possible. Each morning starts with all teams together, leading to shared moments at transitions and team gatherings each night—like the early days of ultra racing.

    The Experience

    Three Days, Three Distinct Routes

    • Day 1: Leavenworth, WA → Explore alpine forests, mountain trails, and stunning ridgelines.

    • Day 2: Cashmere, WA → Run through rolling orchards, vineyards, and rugged foothills.

    • Day 3: Entiat to Lake Chelan, WA → Traverse remote terrain before finishing on the shores of beautiful Lake Chelan.

At the end of each day, teams regroup, share stories, and prepare for the next stage—all in the vibrant mountain towns of NCW.

The TOUR Vibe: Where Grit Meets Fun

    • Competitive & Casual Welcome → Whether you’re an elite team or weekend warriors, the TOUR is built for all.

    • Old-School Navigation → Forget GPS. Teams rely on maps, route descriptions, and light course markings.

    • Laid-Back Atmosphere → While some teams will push the pace, this is a race that embraces the adventure.

    Race Details

    • Entry Fee: $1,600 per team (discounts for military, non-profits, and student teams).

    • Team Size: 8 runners

    • Support: Teams provide their own transportation, hydration, and food.

    • Timing: Daily start at 6:00 AM, with cumulative team times recorded.

    • Post-Race Celebration with food and drinks.

    How to Register

Year 1 is limited to 30 teams to ensure an incredible experience for all. Future years will gradually expand participation.

    Course & Support

    • Navigation: Teams receive PDF maps with elevation details and turn-by-turn descriptions one week before the event. Course markings are minimal—map reading is part of the challenge!

    • Medical Support: A certified medical professional (EMT or higher) will be on course daily, coordinating with regional hospitals if needed.

    • Facilities: Portable toilets at designated areas. Teams must pack out all waste.

    Social Impact

    Join the Adventure

The TOUR isn’t just a race—it’s an experience that revives the soul of running. Challenge yourself, build lasting memories, and explore one of the most breathtaking regions in the Pacific Northwest.
