Upside Downs invites you to join us for our fifth annual 3.21 Down Syndrome Dash! On March 21, on the property of the Bayou Country Children's Museum, we will begin our celebration with a 5k (3.1 mile) run, to be immediately followed by a little extra .11 mile fun dash. The 3.21 total mile run represents the 3 copies of the 21st chromosome that make individuals with Down syndrome unique. After the race, we invite everyone to join us for a huge Celebration with live music. There will be food and beverage offerings, a jambalaya cook-off, face painting, and so much more!

We hope to see you there and don't forget to wear your crazy socks!!

    The Annual Donut Dash is a 5K and a 5K “Donut Dash” with 50% of proceeds benefiting The Schriever Lions Club and 50% of proceeds benefiting The Thibodaux Lions Club. The race begins and ends at the Rec Center on the campus of Nicholls State University.

    The race begins at 8:30 am with a pre-race warmup at 8:15 am.

    For the 5K Donut Dash, when you get to the halfway mark (1.55 Miles) you will have to eat 4 donuts before you can continue on.

    Donations:

    We will be splitting the funds 50/50 with The Schriever Lions Club and Thibodaux Lions Club. If you would like to make a donation, you can do that here. We appreciate your support!

    Registration Fees:

    $25 for the 5K and the 5K Donut Dash, but after March 28th there is no guarantee of a shirt with your registration.

    Thanks again to our corporate race sponsor, Thibodaux Regional Health System for sponsoring registrations for all youth (ages 5-17) to sign up and run for free!

    Also, all ADULT PRE-REGISTRATIONS (age 18+ who register by May 18th) will receive a $10 Food/Drink Voucher for the 2025 Firemen's Fair.

    Registration: We encourage everyone to please register online. On-site registration will also be open during packet pickup Friday, May 1st from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and race morning 6:00AM - 7:30am.

    Race Details: The 1 Mile Fun Run (7:30am start) begins at the corner of Tiger Dr. and Parish Rd. The 5k (8am start) start will be at the fairgrounds entrance. The route will bring participants through Thibodaux’s historic Downtown District before leading them to the finish line at the fairgrounds entrance, where commemorative Firemen’s Race Medals and refreshments will be waiting for everyone who crosses the finish line.

    Packet Pickup: Will take place at the fairgrounds Friday, May 1st 5pm-8pm next to the Bowie stand near stage right and Race Morning 6:00am - 7:30am.

    The Colonel Cross Country 3200m is a Community 3200m Cross Country race hosted at the Nicholls Farm as a part of the Nicholls XC Invitational. It is great for trail racers or road runners who are looking for a new experience. Come run at the beautiful Nicholls Farm and kick off the morning of races at the Nicholls XC Invitational. The 3200m course is entirely low mowed grass or some dirt road portions. Nicholls Track & Field student-athletes line the course at important turns to cheer on competitors. Competitors will have post race refreshments and the opportunity to share in the festivities of the University and High School races that follow. There will be prizes for the Overall Top Men's & Top Women's and Overall Top Masters Men's and Top Masters Women's finishers. If entries exceed 50 participants there will be age group medals awarded.

    Nicholls SPA will be partnering with us to offer this race free to Nicholls students. Please follow their registration process if you are a student. There will be awards for Top Nicholls male student, Top Nicholls female student, and Top Nicholls nonbinary student.
