Time to mark your calendars and register early to secure your spot for Saturday April 25, 2026. Early Bird registration is now open until February 28, 2026 and full registration closes April 20, 2026 at 11:59pm.

Register for the 11th annual Merrickville Heritage Classic with cool medals from our local foundry and a friendly atmosphere in our beautiful village located on the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with old running friends and make new ones!

Children 12 years and under:

• Blockhouse Run (2K): $15.00 flat rate

• New!! Canal Run (5K): $20.00 flat rate

A beautiful rural run at the historic Ecotay farm. Spring blooms, fresh air, and quiet country roads await you!

This event features beautiful 6K and 10K loop courses suitable for all levels of runners/walkers

Time: 10K begins at 10:00am

6K begins at 10:15am

(bib pick-up will begin at 8:30am)

Capacity Limit: 200 Runners

The Green Bib DOES NOT include a medal or a race t-shirt (unless purchased). Instead, $5 of your registration fee goes directly to Ottawa First Responders Foundation.

Race Around the Place is Carleton Place’s own community-driven run event, designed to bring people together in celebration of active living, local pride, and small-town charm. Hosted by a dedicated volunteer team, this not-for-profit event features three distances—a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K—welcoming everyone from first-time racers to seasoned athletes. The scenic routes showcase the best of Carleton Place and surrounding areas, with a mix of historic downtown streets, tranquil river views, and lush trail segments. Proceeds from the race will directly support our local food bank, The Hunger Stop, making every stride count toward a stronger, more connected community.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 24th, with staggered race start times to ensure a smooth experience for runners and volunteers alike. The Half Marathon will kick off at 9:00 AM, followed by the 10K at 9:15 AM, and the 5K at 9:30 AM. Runners are encouraged to stick around after their race to explore downtown Carleton Place, cheer on fellow participants, and support the local businesses that make this town great.
