Join us in supporting Julie’s Pink Warrior Project at the JOSC race series bonus race, the Miles for Mammos 5k on Saturday, October 17, 2026!

Julie's Pink Warrior Project provides free screening mammograms to the uninsured and underinsured in our community. Money raised from this race go directly to funding those free mammograms.

This flat, fast race kicks off at 9am after an energizing warmup. This course is perfect for walkers and runners of all ages and abilities and is stroller friendly! Around the halfway point is a water station to hydrate you as you make your way to the finish line. Coming up the final stretch you will be greeted by cheers from spectators and fellow runners. You’ll receive a finishers medal after crossing the finish line and be able to refuel with the delicious post-race snacks!

Don’t forget to take a celebratory photo and tag us in it!

This year's Miles for Mammos 5k will be held on October 17, 2026, at 9AM, at the Jacksonville Commons. Prices are as follows: 5K-Early Bird Pricing $25 until January 1, 2026; $35 until Oct 1, 2026; $40 Oct 1 through 17, 2026. Kids 5 & Under-Free (no shirt/medal; shirt and medal add on for $10.00), Virtual Run-Early Bird Pricing $25 until January 1, 2026; $35 through October 17, 2026 (includes medal). OMH Employees and their families receive a discounted rate with discount code.

New for this year! Bring your furry friend, and donate $5.00 for a bandana, courtesy of our partners at CureChief! All dogs must remain on a leash

Race packets pick up will be announced closer to the event.

All proceeds from our Miles for Mammos 5K benefit Julie's Pink Warrior Project, which provides free screening mammograms to individuals in Onslow County that are under insured or uninsured.

    6:30-8:00AM Packet Pick-up at Jacksonville Commons, 100 Recreation Circle, Jacksonville, NC 28546. NOTE: If you are running the Extra Servings Challenge, your cutoff time for pick up is 7:55AM.

    6:30-10AM Games Area Open

    8:00AM Giblet 1-Miler and Challenge Runners (1-mile segment) Start. NOTE: If you are running the Extra Servings Challenge, you must be back as the start line by 8:25AM and be in 5Kish corral.

    8:27AM Ainsley's Angels

    8:30 AM 5K Start and Extra Servings Challenge. We ask that those who are walking or running with strollers and pets, line up in the back of the corral. This is a timed start and will not impact your race time.

    9:30AM Awards Presentations

    • Overall, First place Male and Female

    • 5K ONLY medals will be awarded for first place only in designated Age Groups.

    New This Year: Extra Servings Challenge Runners will take on the Giblet 1-Miler and them compete in the 5Kish race. Runner will be awarded three medals (Giblet 1-Miler, 5K, and Challenge Medals).

    Packet pick up will only be available on race morning from 7am-8:30am.

    Everyone must pick up and check in themselves so we can give out the correct JOSC Race Series points.

    FAQs

    1. Will we receive a finisher medal? Yes, we have medals in mystery bags so it will be a surprise on which one you will receive. If you already have the medal, feel free to trade with another runner.

    2. Will the event be timed? No, the run is only a fun run. The bibs may have chips on them but we will not have a timing company capturing the time.

    3. Are discounts available? No, we have priced the run at an affordable rate so no discounts will be provided.

    4. Do runners earn JOSC Race Series points? Yes, runners will receive 10 points.

    5. Do you have to participate in order to earn the end of the year awards? No, the awards ceremony will be after the fun run and is separate from the run.
