108 Miles 22 Miles 47 Miles 67 Miles Gravel Run

Welcome to the 7th annual Fistful Of Dirt - the wild west of gravel riding right here in Cody, Wyo. Get your bike tuned up and pull your hat down tight – this ain’t your mama’s gravel bike race. Sunday, September 6th will be a wild west gravel grinder of grand proportions.

The Sheriff still has the same distances and whether you choose to ride The Good (20 Miles), The Drifter (47 Miles), The Bad (67 Miles), or The Ugly (108 Miles), you’re sure to get a hearty mouthful of our Whiskey Gravel – we leave the champagne to the city folk. From the Peaks of the McCulloughs, to Oregon Basin and through exclusive access on the iconic Hoodoo Ranch – The Sheriff of Fistful Of Dirt brings you the very best of the west. Smooth and chunky gravel, nicely packed dirt, some single track, some rocks, and a little bit of sand thrown in for good measure are what make up The Sheriff’s Whiskey Gravel. Please note that our gravel comes in all shapes and forms - part of the fun and challenge of Fistful Of Dirt is the potential roughness and unpredictability of our terrain. Our courses are definitely designed for gravel bikes, but for the 20-Mile course, some folks may be more comfortable on a mountain bike.. E-Bikes only allowed in the 20-Mile "Good" distance.

AND, for 2026, we're continuing the Sheriff's Purse the Fistful Of Dirt Ugly & Bad distances with separate and equal divisions for men & women. The Sheriff's Purse is our very own purse-prize structure in which everyone has a chance at winning, and you won't know 'til you finish where you stand. Scroll to the bottom for Sheriff's Purse details.

Once you cross the finish line, the party is on for all riders! Cool your blazing saddle with a bustlin’ post-ride shindig – the music will be pumping and the beer will be cold. Enjoy Cody for a weekend full of bikes, brews, and attractions. Whether you ride, or just come for the fun, it’ll be a wild west weekend to remember.

This year's race will be capped at 300 racers - so get in there early!

What you get when you register:

  • An amazing race through beautiful Wyoming public lands, and some very special private land

  • Custom FFOD Schwag - TBD (check back!)

  • Free drinks and music at packet-pick up on Saturday

  • Free beer and food truck meal ticket at the finish line

  • A chance at winning a custom FFOD bolo tie for the top 3 male and female finishers in each race (first place only for E-bike division unless we get a bigger turnout)

  • A chance at winning some of the Sheriff's Purse - check out fistfulofdirt.com for more details on that

  • A dang good time

The Sheriff's Purse - $3500 for The Ugly & The Bad - Here's how it works...

The Sheriff will be awarding cash prizes for 1st place male & female finishers in 3 divisions for The Ugly and The Bad races. The first division will be the 1st overall male & female finishers of each of the two races. The second division will be the 1st male & female finishers that are at least 1 hour after the 1st place male & female finishers (respectively) of the first division. The third division winners will be the 1st male & female finishers at least 1 hour after the 1st male & female finishers (respectively) of the second division.

Everyone has a chance for some cash…

The Sheriff’s Purse not only recognizes elite riders, but also those who have the grit of the west. If you’re a front runner, you know where you stand…but if you’re not, you’ll just need to keep giving it your all to find out where you land when you cross the finish – everyone has a chance to win some of the Sheriff’s Purse – and we sure hope you’re one of them, pardner!

PEAKS to Conga: A Ride with Purpose

About the Ride: PEAKS to Conga is an annual road bike ride and cancer fundraiser from Cody to Shell, Wyoming. All proceeds benefit PEAKS (People Everywhere Are Kind & Sharing), a nonprofit that supports cancer patients in the Big Horn Basin by helping cover gas, groceries, and other non-medical expenses during treatment. Since its inception, the ride has raised more than $450,000 to assist local friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers facing cancer. Join us for our 15th annual ride on Saturday, June 20, 2026! This is a fun, non-competitive, fully supported event that begins at 7:00 AM at the parking lot of Cody Coffee Roasters and Acension FBO Network (3001 Duggleby Dr, Cody, WY). The 66-mile route features rolling hills adorned with tribute signs honoring those who have battled or are currently fighting cancer. The ride ends in the quaint community of Shell, Wyoming. After the ride, relax in Shell’s community green space and grab food or drinks from 307 Pizza, the Shell Bar or Shell

Store. Stick around for yard games and an afternoon of live music starting at noon. We will also have a raffle and local vendors, including massages ($1/min) to sooth your muscles after the long ride! We will also have a craft/card table where anyone can make inspirational cards for the cancer patients that receive PEAKS grants. Make sure to bring cash for vendor purchases and for the raffle! Registration for this fully supported event is $100 (there is a processing fee of $7.00). There are no refunds. The Story Behind PEAKS to Conga:

Thirteen years ago, a group of women, dressed in pink and riding motorcycles in a conga line, passed through Shell, Wyoming. At Dirty Annie’s, our founder Laurie Stoelk learned about their mission—raising awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer. Inspired by their passion, Laurie and a small group of cyclists took on the challenge the following year, riding the 66 miles from Cody to Shell, escorted by Flo and her "Conga Gals." Since that first ride, the event has grown, with more riders taking to Highway 14 each June. While Flo and her conga line no longer escort the ride—her legacy lives on. Seasoned riders often say: "Just go with the Flo." Join us in keeping that spirit alive while supporting an important cause!

PEAKS to Conga Mission & Vision:

We stand for unity in support of our fellow Bighorn basin community members who are currently or have been affected by cancer. Every year we organize a bike ride and fundraiser in honor of our friends, family and community and to help offset the emotional and monetary expenses of those currently residing in the Bighorn basin area who are afflicted with cancer. We ride to show solidarity in the suffering that goes with physical exertion and cancer. We raise money in order to give all cancer care providers fuel and grocery cards to distribute to their patients in need. Every year we distribute approximately $30 to $35 thousand dollars to cancer patients in Park County, Bighorn County, Washakie County and Hot Springs County. We live by our logo and hold strong to the fact that “People Everywhere are Kind and Sharing”, PEAKS to Conga. Our vision is to continue the momentum of what we have done the last 14 years of service to our community. We hope to see PEAKS to Conga continue to be a ride

about community. It is not just a ride. It is a service and a testimony to the power of communities taking care of their own.
