EVENT DETAILS

The Tideline Classic presented by Foundation Rehab invites runners of all levels to experience the beauty of Campbell River as they race along our iconic Seawalk! Set against sweeping ocean views, rugged shoreline, and fresh coastal air, this celebration of movement and community showcases one of Vancouver Island’s most beloved waterfronts. Whether you’re pushing for a personal best or enjoying the journey, the Tideline Classic will offer memorable race-day experience for all ages!

In its inaugural year, the Tideline Classic will be celebrating the grand opening of Foundation Rehab’s new location across from Ken Forde Park. Race entry includes a waffle breakfast, swag bag, post-race snacks and an invitation to explore the collaborative space created by Foundation Rehab and Elevate Sports - a hub designed to support community health, movement, and performance.

COURSE

All three distances will start and finish at Ken Forde Park and have zero elevation gain. Participants will leave the start line in small groups or waves, to reduce congestion. There will be course markings but no dedicated race lane on the sidewalks and Seawalk. Participants are expected to be respectful of members of the public using the Seawalk during the race.

    Description

The 7th annual 'CVRR Backyard Ultra' will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. Don’t let the word ULTRA stop you. This is an event for everyone.

    Beginning...

The 7th annual 'CVRR Backyard Ultra' will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds. Don’t let the word ULTRA stop you. This is an event for everyone.

Beginning every hour, exactly on the hour, you will run the marked 6,706 meter route through the forests and fields of the CV Exhibition Grounds. All runners begin each subsequent lap exactly at the top of the next hour (not before or after) until they are no longer willing or able to continue this pattern.

When you are no longer willing to do another 'yard', you can relax and enjoy the entertainment as others continue to click off their laps.

*In the spirit of keeping our Comox Valley Backyard Ultra a fun, community-centric event, this year we will impose a maximum of 30 yards/30 hours for all runners. If more than one runner crosses the line after completing 30 yards, at 15:00 on Sunday, July 26, the finisher will be determined by a tie-breaking Mystery Challenge at the Start-Finish area.

There is only one finisher for this event

You might ask 'why this strange distance?' The distance of 6.706 km equals a 'yard' and 24 yards of this distance equals exactly 100 miles over 24 hours.

*The BYU committee has made efforts to be accurate with our route's distance but each yard may not be exactly 6.706 km. Roll with it.

TEAM CATEGORY: Although this is a solo event, you can register as part of a 3-5 person team. All team members start together at the race start and individually run as many laps as each member can. At the end, we will tally up the teams' total laps to see which team ran the most yards. There will be awards for the most yards completed by a team, the best costumes and special team draw prizes. Team members don't have to run the same number of yards. Gather your friends and register now as a solo runner or as a team. It's better to suffer together!
