Come together to help celebrate 4/20 by running/walking the 4th annual Family Friendly Have a Nice Dazed 4.20 Mile Run or Confused 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk.

The Have a Nice Dazed and Confused 4.20 Mile Run will be the hippest race in New Mexico. The course will be a scenic out-and-back course on Ft Stanton Rd. with views of the Sierra Blanca mountain range.

Our after-party will include 420 Scooby Snacks and Kool-Aid for those after-race munchies. Food Truck, along with beer and wine specials, will be provided by Noisy Water Winery before and after the event.

The event will start and finish at Enchanted Vine by Noisy Water Winery off Fort Stanton Road in Alto, NM. https://www.enchantedvinebarn.com/

The movie Dazed and Confused 1976 cult classic will be shown inside the barn at 6:00 P.M.

Run or walk like the wind and receive the most excellent vintage finisher medals, award charms, and custom race swag!

    Join us on August 22, 2026, for the 12th annual Ruidoso Grindstone Trail Runs at Wingfield Park in downtown Ruidoso, NM. This year’s event features a Half Marathon Heavy (13.8 miles) starting at 7:00 AM, an 8.5 Miler at 7:15 AM, and a 4 Miler also at 7:30 AM. Celebrate a decade of trail running with custom commemorative swag, delicious cake, and a lively post-race party.

    Since 2014, the Grindstone Trail Runs have been supported by the Village of Ruidoso, Lincoln County, and the US Forest Service. Proceeds benefit the All-Season Adaptive Sports program, which enriches the lives of individuals with disabilities through snow sports and recreation. Over the past eleven years, more than $60,000 has been donated to this program.

    A great family event starting & finishing at Wingfield Park with three different trail running distances. Start and finish at Wingfield Park in Midtown Ruidoso (altitude 6900 feet).

    • All participants will receive a commemorative engraved granite stone coaster finisher's medal, a custom soft-style shirt, a custom race bib, and FREE professional race photos.

    • T-shirt size guaranteed to everyone registered by midnight on August 13th.

    Race Description

    • HEAVY HALF MARATHON ( 13.8 miles) start @ 7.00 am

    CUT-OFF TIME: 5:00Hours. If you cannot finish before 12:30 pm on race day, we will not offer any support: NO timing; NO awards; NO EMT or Police; NO refreshments or food. A little longer than an official half-marathon, but what’s a few extra yards between friends !!! You will get a smorgasbord of heart-pounding hills and technical downhills to satisfy your trail runner's desire.

    Walkers are discouraged for this distance, but 2 other distance options are available.

    • Start & finish at Wingfield Park

    • CUPLESS EVENT - We’ll have filling stations at Wingfield Park.

    • 2 refill water station (no cups), junction between 8.5M & Half (MM9), Half (MM7).

    • Refreshments & fruits will be provided at the finish line.

    • Famous Ruidoso carved bear awards to the TOP three overall winners

    Join us for the 2nd annual Ruidoso Runfest where the weekend will include running, local bands, food trucks, and Downshift Brewing Company beer garden. This will be a family-friendly weekend hosted by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation dept.

    Friday night kicks off the weekend with the Pizza Hut 5K and Kids 1K fun run. Finish line at Wingfield Park will host the awards for 5K along with music, post-race food, and a beer garden.

    Saturday's events include the 6th running of the Ruidoso Marathon and Half Marathon, and in its 2nd year, the State-Forty-Seven Road 47K/50K presented by Bluebird Running. This is a 47K run for overall and age group awards. For those wanting to complete a true ultra 50K distance, we have an additional loop that needs to be completed by 2 pm. This is New Mexico's only premier road 50K.

    Saturday will include a festival-like atmosphere with awards, post-race food, a band, a beer garden, food trucks, and bear carving.

    Don't miss this weekend and book your rooms early!

    Join us on September 18th and 19th for the 2nd Annual Ruidoso Runfest, featuring a weekend of running, local bands, food trucks, and the Downshift Brewing Company beer garden. This will be a family-friendly weekend hosted by the Village of Ruidoso Parks & Recreation dept.

    The race will start at 6 am, 1 hour before the marathon begins, with a 2 pm cutoff time. (Headlamps are strongly recommended.) This event fills up quickly!

    The 47K/50K will be limited to the first 75 registrants.
