I volunteer for a charity organization that primarily provides food to those in need in the city of Rochester - Cameron Community Center - which is essentially a soup kitchen and a 501c organization.
The recent government and economic climate are resulting in their funding being significantly cut at a time where there’s unfortunately great need. Cameron is an urban outreach center in the Lyell-Otis neighborhood in the city of Rochester. In an effort to help feed our neighbors in need we are getting together an “informal” bike ride to raise money (read – ride at your own risk). We will require a signed release form. The ride will be a 5 or 25 mile loop starting in Webster Park, 255 Holt Rd, Webster, NY on Saturday July 11^th at 7:30 AM. As such you can do as little as 5 or as much as 125 miles – whatever suits you. The loop is relatively flat. While this will be self-supported we are hoping to have enough people around that we could help each other if needed. The plan is to get sponsors and
raise as much money as possible to help Cameron and their patrons. We’d love to have you ride with us and if not, sponsor us. Last year we raised $5500 with a small group. This year I am setting a goal of $10,000. Contact us with any questions or to donate. Thanks for considering it.

Be a Part of the 14th Perinton Youth Triathlon!
presented by Towpath Bike & MVPT
A Triathlon for Youth Ages 7-14.
Choose between 2 different distances based on skill and/or comfort level.
The Sprint
Triathlon consists of a 50 yard pool swim, followed by a 2 mile bike, and finishing off with a 1/2 mile run.
Need more of a challenge? Try the Double Triathlon! 100 yard pool swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run.
There will be a pre-race walk through for those interested Thursday, July 30 from 6:00pm - 7:00 pm at the Perinton Community Center. Meeting for the race walk-through will be held behind room 204 located in the north wing hallway. Participants will be able to see the racecourse, ask questions, and pick-up packets.
No refunds will be issued come Friday, July 31st for any reason (including cancellation due to inclement weather).

Since 2010, the Rochester Triathlon (aka The ROC) is a late summer classic organized by the Rochester Area Triathletes (aka RATs) and held at Durand-Eastman Beach in Irondequoit, NY on Saturday
August 22, 2026. The ROC features a shallow open-water swim, closed-to-traffic, super-fast, bike course, and a picturesque run along Lake Ontario and Seabreeze shorelines to the roaring crowds lining the pathway.
The ROC is a USAT-sanctioned event offering qualifying slots for the National Championships for all Sprint and Intermediate distances in the following divisions:
High School: Male and Females still in school (Sprint distance only)
Age Group: Every 5 years (Sprint and Intermediate Triathlon)
Athena / Clydesdale: Athenas are females above 165lbs, Clydesdales are males above 225lbs (Sprint distance only)
Duathlon: Male and Female Top (No Age Groups)
AquaBike: Male and Female Top 3 (No Age Groups)
5K Run: Male and Female Top 3 (No Age Groups)
