Be sure to grab your family, friends, coworkers and come join us for one of the most fun filled events in Southern California, the Ramona Wine Country 5k. It takes place at the breathtaking Backcountry Gardens and is part trails with a splash of mud run plus a healthy dose of Mother Nature’s obstacles mixed in for fun. You’ll also find some hills, streams, boulders and much more. Not your average 5K! Everyone can do it as long as you have the drive and determination to keep going, not quit and in the words of Joe Dirt, “keep on keepin’ on."

It’s a 1.5 mile two loop course. If two loops are too many, feel free to enjoy the single loop option.

Oh, and don’t miss out on the Charity Solo & Team Beer Mile after the 5K is finished. All you gotta do is drink 4 beers and run 4 x400 meters Fastest individual or 2-4 person team earns the bragging rights.

Once the fitness is over, you’ve gotta then join us across the road at the award winning Ramona Ranch Winery for a FREE wine tasting, share stores and food for purchase from Farmhouse 78. If you didn’t know, Ramona Ranch is also San Diego’s only Certified Sustainable Vineyard and Winery.

    REGISTRATION INCLUDES;

    • FREE Ramona Ranch wine tasting

    • Finisher’s medal

    • Race swag

    • Ramona Radio playing tunes

    • Food for purchase from Farmhouse 78

    • FREE Parking

A portion of the proceeds help support the life changing OPERATION REBOUND – FRONTLINE TO FINISH LINE: CAF’s Operation Rebound® program strengthens the mental and physical well-being of veterans, military personnel and first responders with permanent physical injuries by providing them opportunities to use sports and fitness to re-integrate into our communities and by empowering them through sports.

Created by Joe Decker, a Guinness World Record holder and accomplished Ultra Endurance Athlete, The SUCK is twelve hours of non-stop pushing your limits with a purpose behind every minute. Each overnight SUCK takes you through miles of dark trails, heavy carries, military style calisthenics, strongman work, and whatever curveballs Mother Nature feels like throwing your way.

Make no mistake, it is brutal. And that is exactly why it works. We are not out there to break you. We are out there to empower you. Sometime around 2 AM, when the world goes quiet and your excuses run out, you discover who you really are. You face the stuff you have been avoiding. And then you rise anyway. That feeling stays with you long after the sun comes up.

Come test yourself in one of the most extreme fitness challenges on the planet. Do the hard thing on purpose and walk away a different person.

And if you finish the entire event, you earn a one of a kind Challenge Coin. It cannot be bought. It cannot be gifted. You have to earn it the hard way. It puts your name on the short list of those who have stepped into the dark, fought through the doubt, and officially Embraced the SUCK.

    The SUCK - Mandatory Gear:

    • Ruck Sack / Backpack - I personally recommend a 60 liter / 3500 cubic inch

    • CamelBak hydration plus pack - recommend 70 - 100 oz

    • Guys 2 x 50lb sandbags

    • Gals 2 x 35lb sandbags

    • 2 x 5 gallon buckets

    • Headlamp

    • Duct tape

    • Pliers

    • Trail Shoes

    • Work gloves

    • Workout gear

    • Warm/cold weather gear

    • Plenty of food, water & electrolytes for the entire 12 hours, there are no aid stations

    • Suggested - snake bit kit, poison ivy/oak remedy, first aid kit

NOTE: Gut Check Fitness, LLC policy is that there are NO REFUNDS and/or TRANSFERS. You are making a commitment to train, work hard, stay focused then to show up and 'Embrace the SUCK'. Please reach out if you are in need of a training program.
