  The Sheyenne High School Track & Field Team is proud to host the 10th Annual Greg Grooters Memorial Run on the streets of West Fargo on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

  Greg Grooters passed away in 2016 after battling cancer. He was a dedicated teacher, coach, and administrator within West Fargo Public Schools. As the first principal of Sheyenne High School, Greg took great pride in establishing the school and building traditions that continue to shape its culture today.

  Greg was also an avid runner and passionate supporter of track and cross country. He participated in countless road races and coached the West Fargo and Moorhead High School track and cross country teams to State Championships. Beyond coaching, he loved following and supporting local track and cross country athletes.

  The Greg Grooters Memorial Run was established to honor Greg’s legacy and continue making a positive impact on Sheyenne students.

  All events will start and finish at the Sheyenne High School Track Complex.

  Is there a Kids Run?

  Yes! There will be a ¼ Mile Kids Fun Run for children ages 12 and under. Kids (12 & under) can also register for the 5K at a discounted rate.

  How will I know my time?

  All 5K participants will be electronically timed, with results posted online after the race.

  What is included in my registration?

  5K participants will receive a Greg Grooters Memorial Run shirt, along with post-race drinks and snacks.

  When is packet pickup?

  Race Description- Max distance in one of the following time domains: (prices will increase as we near the event start)

  Two racing categories for each time domain:

  -Run/Walk

  -Ruck (35lbs) racer must supply their pack with proper weights

  Best Aid Station Ever:

  We will ensure that our main aid station is one of the best you will experience at any race. Please bring a collapsible cup if you have one. Limited cups will be available at the event. A lightly stocked water station will be available at the turnaround point.

  Runners, families, and the Fargo–Moorhead community came out in a big way, and we’re excited to build on that energy for another unforgettable race weekend.

  The Fargo Mini features a 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon, welcoming everyone from first-time racers to seasoned runners chasing new goals. With a start and finish inside the Fargo Civic Center and nearly 90% of the course along the scenic Red River bike paths, this event offers a fast, fun, and beautiful race experience through the heart of our community.

  The Friday night 5K returns with its fun, festive atmosphere (costumes encouraged), followed by Saturday’s 10K and Half Marathon, perfect for runners looking to challenge themselves on a well-supported course.

  Once again, the Fargo Mini is proud to support the Mark Knutson Shoes for Kids Legacy Fund, continuing a legacy of giving back and helping ensure kids in our community have access to shoes and opportunities to stay active.
