Join us for the 1st Straight Up Gravel as we race the rugged gravel roads of America’s first national river — The Buffalo! Be prepared for remote, chunky gravel beneath a canopy of trees that winds through a national park, creating a straight up one-of-a-kind gravel event.
The 75-miler is a true climber’s delight, featuring two major climbs: one at 2.5 miles with an 8.2% average gradient, and another at 1.6 miles, also averaging 8.2%. While those two climbs account for 1,800 ft of elevation gain, that still leaves 5,200 ft distributed throughout relentless “rollers”. There will be 3 aid stations along this course at miles 27, 43, & 56. Be prepared for remote back-country riding.
The 50-miler offers much of the same rugged terrain, minus the two major climbs, but still includes plenty of uphills—around half- to one-mile stretches at 8% gradients. This route will have 1 aid station at mile 27.
The 25-mile route is smoother and more beginner-friendly while still providing a rewarding challenge.
