Come join in the celebration of the Capital City's Mexican culture and traditions! This is Topeka's longest-running 5K Run/Walk that started in 1977 by Paul Griego. The Topeka Fiesta 5K will be held
on June 27, 2026 at the Oakland Community Center (801 NE Poplar Street). Trophies awarded for first and second place overall male and female winners. Medals awarded for top 3 finishers for male and females in each age category starting at 11 and above proceeding in 5 year increments to include over age 70. Trophies awarded in Masters age 70 and above to first place male and female winners! Children 10 and under are FREE! General Lewis W. Walt Detachment – Marine Corps League 5k
Join us at beautiful Lake Shawnee in Topeka, Kansas for a day of fitness, fun, and community support at the 5K/10K Walk & Run benefiting the
General Lewis W. Walt Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
This family-friendly event invites runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the scenic lake trails while supporting a great cause. Proceeds will directly benefit the General Lewis W. Walt Detachment, helping us continue our mission of supporting Marines, veterans, and their families right here in Kansas. Funds raised will also aid our community programs, including scholarships for high school seniors, Toys for Tots, and local volunteer initiatives such as highway clean-ups and youth engagement.
Participants can choose between the 5K course or the 10K course, both designed to highlight the natural beauty of Lake Shawnee’s shoreline and park trails. All registered participants will receive an official event t-shirt, with awards for top finishers in multiple age groups.

Indy Races’ mission is to support families affected by pediatric illnesses by raising funds for organizations that operate primarily on donations and volunteers. Through the Indy Races, we aim to
provide ongoing assistance to these organizations, enabling them to continue helping families in need.
We are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering a supportive community. We enjoy seeing people actively engage in outdoor activities and connect. It is truly inspiring to witness individuals unite for a common purpose, prioritizing their health while enjoying nature and participating in wellness-focused activities.
Our event will be in-person this year, with a virtual option. The Indy Races will occur at Lake Shawnee, Topeka, KS, on September 19, 2026 (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month).

If you choose the virtual option, you can walk, run, jog, bike, or swim. The following options are ANYWHERE—inside, outside, at the gym, or even on a treadmill!

Join Fleet Feet this Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, for the 2nd Annual Topeka Turkey Trot! Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Topeka Turkey Trot returns as a
community-focused tradition to kick off the holiday. We had a tremendous first year and we are excited to build off that momentum!
Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome, whether you’re aiming for a personal best, enjoying a relaxed walk with friends and family, or simply taking part in the festive atmosphere. From experienced runners to those trotting for the pie, this event celebrates movement, gratitude, and togetherness before the Thanksgiving meal.
