Walk With Us for Black Maternal Health

Black Maternal Health Week begins with action — and on April 11th, we’re taking that action together.

This 5K is more than a walk. It’s a celebration of community, movement, and collective commitment to ensuring Black women, birthing people, and their families are seen, heard, and supported before, during, and after pregnancy.

When you walk with us, you help expand access to culturally responsive care that improves birth outcomes and advances reproductive justice in our community.

    Your participation helps support:

    • Doula services for families

    • Childbirth education classes

    • Lactation support

    • Workforce development for community birthworkers

    • Wraparound care that protects the health of both parent and baby

    Every step brings visibility.

IN PERSON, WALK UP REGISTRATION BEGINS ON SAT, APRIL 11 AT 8AM.

Positive Strides Therapeutic Riding Center invites cyclists to its 13th Annual Spring Classic Bike Tour on April 11, 2026, in support of its mission to build confidence, self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment for children and adults with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges.

Over 300 cyclists are expected to converge on the town of Easton, MD to participate in a 25, 50 or 62-mile ride along some of the most scenic routes in Talbot County. It starts and ends at Easton High School, 723 Mecklenberg Avenue, Easton, MD 21601. Packet pickup is at 8 a.m. It's a fully supported event featuring three rest stops loaded with our famous homemade baked goods as well as typical rest stop fare. Our delicious, award-winning cream of crab soup awaits you at the end of the ride. A food truck will provide additional lunch options for purchase. The event will take place rain or shine.

BECOME A FUNDRAISER We encourage ALL cyclists to donate and/or select “Become a Fundraiser” when they register for the event. It creates a page that can be shared with family, friends and colleagues. Although fundraising is optional, we appreciate every dollar raised to help us help some of the most vulnerable people in Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester and Queen Anne’s counties.

“When you ride for Positive Strides, you ride for the countless men, women and children who benefit from horse therapies on the Eastern Shore,” says Kim Hopkins Thomas, executive director of Positive Strides. From autism and addiction recovery to PTSD and cerebral palsy, horses play a powerful role in giving a person the confidence and skills they need to live a fulfilling life.

The Spring Classic is known for its friendly volunteers, homemade baked goods and the famous cream of crab soup served at lunch. This event welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels to come together to have fun and fundraise.

The Spring Classic is fun, focused and full of energy! It’s so much more than a bike ride. Follow Positive Strides on Facebook where you’ll find info on this year’s ride and photos from past rides. For more information about Positive Strides, visit www.positivestridescenter.org.
