Important Race Update Race NewsRace location is being moved. I received some unexpected info about the adjacent land on 2 sides being leased out to hunters and Oct is peak season. This is an obvious safety issue and the event would block/interfere with their access. I already have 2 parks in Mandeville, LA that were early choices for this race and were verbally cooperative and will be talking to them again to permit. Registration is still open and but you will not be charged. Signup occurs as usual but the credit charge won't occur until I confirm the new site. Those already registered are receiving an email. Location Race is held on private property in White's Crossing, 6mi East of Wiggins, MS near HWY 26. Exact location, address and directions will be released race week. Course & Format 2 miles of wooded, mostly shaded and flat, double track trail. Course design is a double lollipop, with each end extending from the central start and finish area. Exact course route will not be

disclosed until race week but will be very clearly marked and more photos and elevation details will come shortly. Elevation change is very minimal. Runners will run the 2.08 mile course once each 30 minutes. 24 hours will equal 100 miles. The start of each loop will begin at the top and bottom of every hour. You must be in the corral at the start of the course and finish the course before the end of the 30 min time limit.Runners will start and finish each loop every 30 minutes until they are unable to complete the course within the time limit or decide that they are done running. The race continues until there is only one person able to complete a solo lap.A special feature I am including at this race will allow the last person standing to continue running solo (if all other runners have dropped) to achieve 100 miles. Results & Awards Although, official Last Man Standing events have only 1 finisher with all others being DNF, you will receive official ultrasignup results for the mileage you

complete. NO DNFs will be issued and runners will be ranked according to mileage attained. Every runner finishing at least 1 2 mi loop will receive a finisher medal. This is an excellent way to get your desired mileage with access to your tent and full aid and amenities every 30 minutes. Any runners attaining 100 miles or more will receive a very nice buckle. Crew Tents You will be able to setup tents next to the start area as a place to fuel and rest in between laps. Placement near the Start is First Come and exact map designating setup area will be coming closer to race day. There will be a designated tent for solo/uncrewed runners with space to set up your gear and aid. This is great for minimalists and especially those traveling via plane or not wanting to set a tent area. Crewed runners MUST utilize the tent/camp area. ONLY uncrewed runners will be allowed in the uncrewed tent. Aid Station I am seeing several of these events not providing aid for runners. WHY NOT?! There will be a

fully stocked aid station and community tent area with tables and chairs and some space for you to setup your personal area. We will serve several meal choices at all times during the race plus a full complement of snacks and beverages. If you are traveling solo/uncrewed and want to rely on the race aid for fueling and rest, then I will have that for you. Crewed runners are also welcome to all aid, but will have their own self-provided tent area to setup. Crews and family cannot take from the aid station other than for water. However, a meal ticket can be purchased for a minimal price for the day so that they can have access to race meals. There will be porto potties on site in a convenient area. Refunds and Credits If you wish to receive a refund in the event to cannot or decide not to attend, please utilize the Add Refund Guarantee on the cart summary screen of registration. Otherwise, any cancelations within 30 days of event will receive a 100% race credit at any other Rougarou race. A

50% credit will be given until 10/28. Rules Rules and more details will be added as needed. Although this event will have a casual backyard ultra feel, some the rules of this format are unique to this style event and will be in place provide fairness to all runners. Pacers are NOT allowed. Not at any time or any location. Why not? Due to the short course nature and that most runners will be finished by dark, there is no need to be accompanied by a pacer. There will always be another runner very close to you if you fear being alone in the woods. Most importantly, myself and volunteers will be counting and tracking runners along the course to verify everyone is honestly completing their loops and pacers or family/friends on course make this difficult or impossible.Runners CANNOT be crewed or assisted along the course. You are only allowed to receive assistance and aid from another runner. They can provide you with nutrition or water or gear. A crew-person or friend CANNOT meet you along the

lap to hand you anything. They cannot chase you down to give you a forgotten item. When you leave the start corral, you must complete the loop with what you have, aside from any help from another runner. From the time you complete the loop until the start of the next, you are free to do or go wherever you like. Visit the race aid station for snack and meal, your personal tent, the uncrewed-runner tent (only if you're actually uncrewed), the restroom, or your car. Restroom (portos) will be available at any time but only located at the Start/Finish area. I will not deny anyone restroom access. I will detail rules on tent/car access once I have laid out the map. It's not about making anything difficult. It's to prevent cheating by hiding in the potty and skipping loops. This has happened at a major national event. Event's current local time: 3:58 AM CT
