USAC permit 15479,Race starts at 10:00 am this year. The Mt. Davis Challenge Road Race is a 40/56 mile event that traverses the highest point in Pennsylvania. The course follows a lollipop style, starting in Confluence, PA, and utilizing the hilly back roads of the Mt. Davis area, climbing to an elevation of 3,213 ft. Once over the top, it descends on the eastern side and climbs back up on Savage Road before returning to Confluence. The Men's Cat 1/2/3 will complete two laps of the upper loop. Prolonged climbs, fast descents, and great scenery make this a memorable event. This will be the 13th year for the race, promoted by the Confluence Tourism Association. Please note: If you have never raced before or do not have a USA Cycling racing license, you must enter a category open to Cat 5 riders (Men's Cat 5, Women's Cat 4/5, Men's Masters 45+, 55+, and 65+, or Women's Masters 45+) and purchase a one-day license.
Proceeds from the race are donated to local groups and fire departments that volunteer and are used to fund projects supported by the Confluence Tourism Association.
Road surfaces range from very smooth pavement to pavement that has been oiled and chipped over the years with some patching. Oak Dale Road has a few holes which will be clearly marked. Route will be using Fort Hill Road from Route 523 to Pumpkin Center.

Men's cat 1/2/3 will do 2 laps of the top loop.
Race Day Registration Fee $55 (No discounted pricing for women's races on race day.)
Race will be held rain or shine. Registration opens at 8:30 am on race day and closes at 10:30 am and will be located at Logan Place in the center of town at the Community Center. No Refunds 2 weeks prior to event.
USA Cycling license required. One day license will be available on race day for $15 This license can only be used for any race with a Men's Cat 5 or Women's Cat 5 category. This includes the Men's Master 45+, 55+,65+ and Women's 45+.
Race Timing will be provided by Falcon Timing Services. Results for the top finishers will be posted as quickly as possible at the Community Center and on the Falcon Timing Website.

Directions:
From Pittsburgh: Take the PA Turnpike to exit 91 (Donegal). Turn left onto Route 31 and head east toward Somerset. Just past Bakersville turn right at Bike Trail sign onto Trent Road. At the stop sign turn left onto Copper Kettle Highway. Turn right at the New Lexington sign and right onto Route 281 at the flashing light. Follow south to Confluence.
From DC/Baltimore: Take I-70 west to I-68. Take exit 14 and go to Route 40. Follow Route 40 to Route 523 and follow north to Confluence.
From Morgantown: Take I-68 east to exit 23 to Bruceton Mills and follow 26 North. 26 North becomes Route 281 and follow to Confluence.
