Run for the Dogs 5k 5K features a scenic course!

Join us on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 9:00 AM for an exciting "Run for the Dogs Themed" event that features the scenic views of Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, IN! With awesome swag for all dog lovers and runners, this race is a sure thing for a great doggy good time!

This race is timed and scored by J3 Timing. Results will be posted at www.J3Timing.com.

    • Age Discounts for Triple Crown Challenge? The system will not allow it and it's cheaper to sign-up kids for the individual races :-)

    • Must be the same runner for all races? Yes, permits the same runner one entry to the Hub Run, the Brickyard Run and Run for the Hills race. You got this!

    • When do I get my shirts/bibs? Shirts and Bibs will be distributed at each individual race packet pick-up. We love to see your face :-)

    • Refunds? Like all of our races, no refunds will be issued if a runner is unable to run a race. The proceeds go to support the YMCA Income-Based Scholarship, so you're doing a good thing...even if you miss one of the races :-) All payments are final.

    Hub Run Packet Pickup:

    PRE-RACE: For your convenience, you may pick up your race shirt on Friday, April 10th from 2-6:00pm at the Dean & Barbara White Southlake YMCA.

    RACE DAY: Registration and packet pick up at Bulldog Park on Saturday, April 11th from 7:00am-8:30am.

    RACE LOCATION:

    Bulldog Park at 183 S. West St.

    *Note all roads along course will be closed at 8:45am until race is over.

    SHIRTS

    To guarantee a shirt, register by March 22. After March 22, we will not guarantee your shirt. Registration ends at 8:30am SHARP on April 11!

    AWARDS

    Award ceremony will immediately follow the race. Awards given to Top Female and Male Overall, Top Male Masters and Female Masters (over 40 years old); first, second & third place finishers in each age division, Athena, and Clydesdale for the 5K run. (Runners that choose to participate in the Clydesdale and Athena division are not eligible for overall and age group awards.) AWARD GIVEN TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WITH THE MOST PARTICIPANTS!

    Awards can be picked up at the Dean & Barbara White Southlake YMCA starting Monday, April 13 and will be held for a month after race day. Awards given to Top Female and Male Overall; Top Male Masters and Top Female Masters ( 40 years of age or older) and first, second & third place finishers in each age division: 0-8, 9-11, 12-14,15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-80, 80+. Awards will also be presented to the Top Athena (Female 170 LBS+) & Top Clydesdale (Male 210 LBS+ ) for the 5K run (Participants choosing to compete in the Clydesdale/Athena categories are not eligible for overall, masters, or age division awards).

    Be a SUPERHERO! and help fight the effects of child abuse in Lake County. Our 5K is Family Friendly and strollers are welcomed. Held at Lake County Fairgrounds, Crown Point, IN. Check in at Shelter #1 from 8:30-8:50am. 5K Run starts 9:00 am, walkers and strollers start at 9:05 am. T-shirt (if registered by April 20) and race bib pick up will be at Shelter #1 morning of race.

    Registration fee is $35 if registered by May 15. Registration fee is $40 day of race. Registration fee includes a t-shirt if registered by April 20 (only adult sizes available), and the registration fee is tax deductible!!

    There will be awards for the overall male and overall female.

    Three best dressed superheroes will receive a prize. 5k participants will get to vote on the winners!

    All proceeds will go to benefit Royal Family Kids' Camp #270 and Kingdom Youth Camp, Merrillville. Royal Family Kids' Camp and Kingdom Youth Camp is a free week of camp for children ages 7-16 in the Lake County Foster System. For more information contact jcalder12@gmail.com.

    Join New Leash On Life, a 501(c)(3) organization, a no-kill pet adoption and resource center currently in development for Crown Point, Indiana, Saturday, June 6th for our inaugural 5K and 2K Dog Run/Walk! Our event is open to not only families, but their dogs as well! Even if your pooch is more of a couch potato than an athlete, we will have a curated vendor area to explore as well as food vendors, contests, and demonstrations! For families, the thrilling Y Climbing Tower will be open for anyone adventurous at heart.

    Our fun run is open to anyone with or without their pets! The course trails through the beautiful YMCA Camp Triangle Hills and will offer plenty of sights (and smells!) for our two-legged and four-legged participants. We encourage those with participating pets to take their time and enjoy the trails!

    5K Race start- 9AM

    2K Run/Walk start- 9:10AM
