Bambas Sports Club was born in Amsterdam in December 2022 when three friends decided sport should feel like play again. The name itself captures the spirit: bambas, Spanish slang for trainers, signals that this is about joy, not performance. Around 70 runners gather weekly, from fast to relaxed, drawn together by something simpler than speed. Here, running is a way to belong, to move through the city with others, and to feel genuinely alive. Every Wednesday at 7pm and Saturday morning at 10:30am, the crew meets at Vondelpark, threading through Amsterdam's parks and canals. Routes reshape familiar streets into moments of discovery. Low-pressure, warm, and built on easy camaraderie, Bambas Sports Club proves that the best runs happen when you stop chasing times and start chasing connection.

Running Junkies was born in 2010 when three friends with a shared running obsession decided to turn their passion into a community. What started as a small circle has grown into one of Amsterdam's most enduring running crews, now counting around 80 runners from wildly different backgrounds. The crew treats the pavement as their gym and the city as their track, rejecting memberships and treadmills in favor of pure movement through Amsterdam's streets. Twice a week, runners gather to explore routes along canals, parks, and the Amstel River, building a genuinely close community that runs together and travels together.
