Overview
Set in the scenic and quiet 180-acre Cedar Bend Park just north of Waverly, Iowa, this 4- or 8-hour loop event offers a relaxed yet ambitious playground for trail endurance lovers. The mix of singletrack, wider trail and gravel underfoot gives a bit of variety, and the time-boxed format (run as many laps as you can in your timeframe) allows you to set your own objective—be it a personal new distance, a strong pace or simply finishing strong.

Location: Cedar Bend Park -- located just North of Waverly, Iowa (For your GPS -- 1267 205th St, Waverly, IA 50677)Date: September 5th, 2026Check-in Time: 6:00a-7:30aStart Time: 8:00a (both the 4 and 8 hour endurance runs will start at this time)The course: 3.15 mile loop that winds around the parameter of Cedar Bend park. The trails are well maintained. Roughly 1/5 of the loop will be on gravel, the rest is all trail.**Strava -- Cedar Bend Big Loop Completion of the race: Only laps finished within the allotted 4 (or 8 hours) will be officially recognized. If you get back after your cutoff time, consider those bonus miles. You may switch from the 8 hours to the 4 hours race during registration, but will not be refunded the difference. If you register for the 4 hours, you may not jump up to the 8 hour.Awards: Given to the top 3 overall male and top 3 overall female finishers or each the 4 hours and 8 hour events. In the case of a tie, the person who completed the distance first will be ranked higher.
Event Information
Map: 5k+ - about 3.2 mile - loop that goes around the parameter of Cedar Bend park. Each loops contains roughly 200ft of elevation. The trails are maintained, but do have some technical aspects. Roughly 1/5 of the loop will be on gravel, the rest is all trail.Aid Station: There will be a fully stocked aid station at the start/finish line. If there is something specific you would like, please make sure to bring that. We will try our best to offer something for everyone. No aid may be given to a runner outside of the main start/finish aide station, doing so will result in disqualification.Crews: We will have sufficient room for crews at the event. Please do not bring anything larger then a 10*10 tent and try your best to bring just one vehicle as parking is limited at Cedar Bend. The trail is open to non-race traffic, but please be mindful of the racers. There will be multiple places to cheer on your runners, however, no aid may be given to them outside of the start/finish aid station.

Meyerhoff's Mayhem
Meyerhoff's Mayhem is an endurance event. 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, with an optional 2-mile add-on after the last leg. Race sweatshirts for participants and t-shirts for volunteers Medals for finishersThe first leg will start Friday, Oct 16. There will be light meals and water provided. A menu is listed, but may change as details are finalized closer to the event. Leg 1: 6pm (GU, water) Leg 2: 10pm (Veggie broth, energy balls, GU, water) Leg 3: 2 am (Veggie broth, energy balls, GU, water) Leg 4: 6 am (Donuts, bagels, bananas, apples, GU, water) Leg 5: 10 am (Chicken noodle soup, PB sandwiches, GU, water) Leg 6: 2 pm (Chips, GU, water) Leg 7: 6 pm (Sloppy Joes, pasta salad, PB bars, GU, water) Leg 8: 10 pm (Veggie broth, chips, GU, water) Leg 9: 2 am (Veggie broth, energy balls, GU, water) Leg 10: 6 am (Donuts, bagels, bananas, apples, GU, water) Leg 11: 10 am (Chips, GU, water) Leg 12: 2 pm (GU, water)*Teams can break up legs any way they choose.*Ruck participants can use weight of their choice.*Halloween costumes encouraged.Where: Big Woods Campground, Cedar Falls Iowa.The route will start from the tent area and use some paved trails and the disc golf course for a variety of terrain. ****Personal lights required for dark runsWe love dogs but please, NO pets for the runsRegistrations placed after 9/11/26 are not guaranteed a shirt********As with most races we have a NO REFUND policy. Chad loved running, and pushing the limits that life tried setting in place. We are trying to continue his passions by providing an event where people can come enjoy some of his favorite things.
