  This youth event involves a pool swim, road bike, and grass run for kids ages 7-14* on the campus of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM. Cost is $20 + $10 USA Triathlon membership. If the participant does not have a current USAT membership, it will be purchased through this process at the time of registration.

  *Age groups are determined by participant's age on December 31, 2026. Distances are as follows:

  7-8 yrs – Swim 50 yards; bike 1 mile; run 0.5 mile

  9-10 yrs – Swim 100 yards; bike 2 miles; run 0.5 mile

  11-12 yrs – Swim 150 yards; bike 3 miles; run 1 mile

  13-14 yrs – Swim 200 yards; bike 3 miles; run 1 mile

  Description

  The Socorro Chile Harvest Triathlon has been running for 25+ years!! This race is a 400 m swim in the City of Socorro pool, with a 20 km bike ride through Socorro and New Mexico Tech campus, ending with a relatively flat 5 km run through residential parts of town. The race is well supported by many happy volunteers, and completely organized and run by a local club, Socorro Striders and Riders.
