    Packet pick-up and Registration will be conducted the day of the race at the Hanson Hills Recreation Area lodge from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM.

    Wave Start Times

    Waves will start promptly at times as indicated below. Please be at the start area in time to fill your wave,

    Chip Timing

    The Cote Dame Marie will be timed using Chip Timing technology. The chip will be attached to your bib. Make sure Chip panel is positioned on the front of skier. Please do not fold or bend the chip. There is no need to return the chip after the race. Souvenir Finish receipt will be issued at awards table.

    Course

    The race start is located behind the softball field. The finish line is at the base of the ski hill behind the lodge building. Both the start and finish areas are only a short ski/walk from warming areas. The course will be a loop trail. The 11km races will complete one lap of a course and the 22km race will complete one lap and then continue onto our new racer cut that will follow our Guyton Trail (snowshoe trail) to the Blue uphill and complete a second lap. The Citizens Classic course will be set with a classic track the entire length.

    Food and First Aid Station

    We encourage participants to carry or provide their own water bottle for consumption.

    Results:

    Results will be posted periodically at the Hanson Hills Lodge.

    Get ready to embrace the elements at the Winter Triathlon Challenge! This one-of-a-kind race combines endurance, grit, and fun as athletes conquer three back-to-back winter sports disciplines. Whether you’re racing to win or just out to challenge yourself, this event is designed to test your limits in the best way possible.

    For those who have done the last 4 races, we do not have the terrible hills!! There are still hills though. ;p

    Also, Skate Ski is in this year!!!!

    🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️⛷ Race Format:

    Ski– 5k SKATE ski

    Bike – 10K fat-tire bike ride across frosty terrain

    Run – 5K winter trail run through snow-packed paths

    (Duathlon is only the Bike and then run portion of this event)

    Athletes of all experience levels (from first timers to seasoned triathletes)

    Relay teams (2–3 athletes splitting the disciplines)

    Solo competitors ready to take on the full challenge

    🌨 Weather Policy

    This is a true winter race—we go in snow, shine, or flurries! In the event of dangerous weather, organizers reserve the right to adjust course distances or course layout to maintain athlete safety. This is a Nonrefundable race. We do not transfer race entries to the following year, and we do not refund registrations. Please plan accordingly for weather. We offer hotel locations nearby and we will adjust the time if we must for the schedule. If we do have to cancel, we will reschedule the event and keep everyone informed on what comes next. As we have in the past, if there is no snow to ski on, we reserve the right to adjust the race to a run, bike, run.

    Extended bonus!!

    We have again partnered up with our sister Tri-The Abominable Snow Tri! 2/22/26. Do both races and get 3 medals!!

    Just an additional $10 to register as part of the Abominable Snow Tri Race and then sign up separately for Tri45.

    Rentals:

    XC Ski Rental: Forbush (our Host Location) offers XC Ski rentals for $25. Extremely good quality and already waxed for the weather. XC ski Rentals

    Bike Rental:

    Latitude 45 in Petoskey offers $50 rentals (Thursday evening -Saturday afternoon). Latitude Bike rental delivers to the event location on Thursday and will pick up the bike right after the race. Go to the rental page and select 2 day rental. Bike rental , Use CODE tri45.

    North Bound outfitters in Grayling offers day rentals for $40 for Fat Bikes. They only have 6 total. Must call 989-348-8558 Mention Tri 45 at Forbush to reserve a bike for pickup.
