Miles Over the Meadow Mother’s Day 5K & Family Fun Trek

5K Event Fee: Starts at $40* (plus processing fee)

Family Fun Trek Event Fee: Starts at $36* (plus processing fee), price includes up to 4 participants. There is a $9 fee for each additional participant up to 7. This event does not include Commemorative Item (may purchase at registration).

This Mother’s Day, lace up your running shoes and celebrate Mom… or anyone who deserves a little extra love! Join Parker Parks and Recreation with RNK Running & Walking at the Miles Over the Meadow 5K. Set against the scenic backdrop of Tallman Meadow Park, this 3.1-mile run/walk is the perfect way to start a meaningful, memory-making weekend. This event is all about fresh air, community spirit, and celebrating the ones who keep us moving.

Not quite ready for a 5K? Bring the whole crew out for the Family Fun Trek, a one-mile walk designed for all ages, complete with a duck hunt adventure along the route to keep little ones smiling from start to finish.

Registered 5K participants will receive a commemorative Meadow multi-pocket crossbody bag (register by April 30 to guarantee item). Both 5K and Family Fun Trek registrations include a delicious breakfast, a custom race bib, and post-race beer (21+). Commemorative Finisher Medals are available for purchase as an add-on during registration and must be ordered by May 1.

The overall male/female finishers, as well as the top three male/female finishers in each of the following divisions of the 5K will be awarded: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

This event is held rain, snow or shine. NO REFUNDS will be issued. Any proceeds from the event will benefit the Town of Parker Scholarship Program, which helps Parker families and/or individuals with limited financial resources participate in Town Recreation programs and facilities.

Packet Pickup: Friday May 8 from 3pm to 7pm, location TBD. Event-day packet pickup will open at 7 a.m. at Tallman Meadow Park

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    Celebrate Dad in stride at the best Dam Race in Town: the Parker Parks and Recreation Dash Across the Dam 5K, presented in partnership with RNK Running & Walking! Gather family and friends and head to the stunning Rueter-Hess Reservoir for a 3.1-mile adventure that’s equal parts challenge, celebration, and community fun.

    Whether you’re running for a personal record, walking with friends, or racing alongside Dad, this scenic course offers unbeatable views and an unforgettable way to kick off Father’s Day weekend.

    Registered 5K participants receive a commemorative item, a delicious pancake breakfast, a race bib, and a post race beer (21+ Off-Site). Commemorative Finisher Medals are available for purchase as an "add-on" during registration, and must be ordered by June 5.

    Extend your stay with a free and convenient post-race day pass (per car), available as an add-on during registration. This pass offers continued access to the premises (excluding personal watercraft and fishing) on race day. The day passes are provided by the car thus, spectators, families and runners traveling together may all participate but once you leave the premises you will not be able to re-enter.

    Watercraft rentals are exclusively available through Surf'SUP. Walk-up watercraft rentals will also be available on event day. To ensure your post-race stay at the reservoir, remember to add the day pass to your registration.

    RexRun for PAWSitivity 2026 opens at 7:00 am so you can visit with the doggies and get an early peek in the Vendor Marketplace! Our family 5K run/walk event kicks off at 7:50am with the singing of our National Anthem. The 5K trail run begins at 8am and is followed at 8:10am with the 5K walk (dogs are welcome!) and the kid's run at 8:45am. Afterwards, treat yourself to a tasty pancake breakfast (free for all registered participants) at the Flippin' Flapjacks food truck! Throughout the day, we will feature therapy and patrol dog training demonstrations. Be sure to catch our colorful dog costume contest (complete with a prize basket brimming with canine fun) and participate in both our silent and live auctions that are always too good to miss!

    The Kids Zone will feature inflatable activities, a selection of lawn games, an obstacle course and balloon catapult for family fun. Meanwhile, children can enjoy face painting, and, naturally, snow cones! Don't forget to explore the Vendor Marketplace for event giveaways and to consult with specialists about your pet needs. Dogs are permitted in the inside event area provided they are well-behaved and on a 6-foot leash.

    Who is Rex and why he is so important?

    The star of our event is K-9 Rex, a four-year-old black Labrador therapy dog. He and his fellow K-9s with their handlers go to local schools to primarily offer comfort to students with special needs, many who are in crisis and are dealing with stress, anxiety and depression. RexRun for PAWSitivity 2025 is presented by Back The Blue K-9 Force, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization. It is dedicated to providing funding for safety and training equipment, health care needs as well as expanding the team of K-9s to meet the needs of these communities. 100% of all net profits from RexRun for PAWSitivity 2025 go to Back the Blue K-9 Force.

    The Flippin' Flapjacks food truck is back, and their breakfasts are getting rave reviews! This tasty combo of pancakes, sausage, coffee, or juice is included with all runner, walker, and volunteer registrations. If you're not registered for the run/walk, you can still purchase a meal at the pancake truck. They’ll be serving from 8:30am to 10:30am.

    Awards

    Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners. The Award Ceremony will be held after the last runners cross the finish line.

    Packet pick-up

    Packet pick up will be the day of the race at registration in the Main Hall, beginning at 7am.

    Please remember...Safety first!

    All dogs must be on a 6-foot leash at all times; retractable leashes are not permitted. Owners are required to clean up after their pets, with several receptacles provided for convenience. Make sure your dog is well-behaved and does not interfere with other attendees. Participation with a stroller or dog is limited to the 5K walk and the children's one-mile run/walk only.

    Our event will host numerous law enforcement K-9 units with their handlers. It's important to respect their space and make sure that neither children nor pets' approach or attempt to touch them. Parents are responsible for preventing any potential injuries to their children or pets. Please observe and obey the rules established by law enforcement.

    Rain or Shine

    The event will be held rain or shine unless there are extreme weather conditions in the area at any time before or during the race. If this should occur, you will be directed to the safest area nearby by our law enforcement officers. This is a trail race. In case of a large amount of rain, the dirt trail will become unusable. Please stay alert if the weather becomes severe.
