    Come join Zoomers for a SUMMER FUN GOOD TIME as we host our 2nd Annual Kids Summer Run Series Presented by Southern Oxygen & Welding Supply in Downtown Wellen Park. Kids ages 1-16 are invited to run one mile each Tuesday in June, starting June 3rd, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the last run on June 24th. Each week the kids can challenge themselves to run faster than the previous week, have fun with their parents or siblings & meet new friends. Refreshments will be provided after the run.

    There is a one-time registration fee per child. That includes all four runs and a t-shirt. June 1st is the deadline for shirts. NO extra shirts will be ordered. Shirts will be given on the night of the last run for those that registered before the deadline.

    Each week, collect a fun new Summer swag item. Those items will be given to each runner. The final week we will have a color FUN run mile for the kids to end the series. We are looking forward to spending this Summer with your kids and show them just how fun running can be!

    Turkey Trot for the Twig returns in 2026 on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and it is still all about the Kids!! The event is to benefit children in the foster care system and the programs of The Twig Cares.

    The Turkey Trot for the Twig has sold out for four years running so don't wait too long to register.

    A great morning event with something for everyone! Chip-timed 5K with awards suitable for all ages and all levels. And a great post-race celebration.

    Your 5K race swag includes:

    • Custom Twig Turkey Trot finisher medal for ALL 5K finishers!

    • Custom Race Bib

    • Custom Short-Sleeve Race Shirt. Or upgrade and choose a long-sleeve or ladies' tank style shirt for just $5 more. (Subject to availability , style and color may change)

    Shirt deadline: October 1st. After this date, shirts or sizes are not guaranteed.

    Packet Pickup will be at The Twig (826 Pinebrook Rd. Venice, FL 34285) on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    Upon completion of the run any shirts not picked up will be available to trade

    No medals will be saved post race. If packets /shirts/medals are not picked up you will be forfeiting them.

    This year we will not only have awards for top 3 male and female but we will be expanding our awards to top 2 in age groups. The age groups will be 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

    Packet Pick up will be:

    Dec 29th @ New Balance, 315 N Cattlemen RD, Sarasota from 4 to 7pm.

    Dec 30th @ Run With Purpose Nutrition, 8319 Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, during normal business hours 7am to 4pm.

    Dec 31st @ Run With Purpose Nutrition, 8319 Lockwood Ridge Rd, Sarasota, during normal business hours 7am to Noon.
