Join us for a Scenic Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K Run/Walk in the Heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore!

All races finish in Empire, MI. The Marathon and Half Marathon start at the Dune Climb, while the 5K begins at Empire Beach.

Marathon Course: This out-and-back route takes runners past the iconic Dune Climb, Little Glen Lake, and through the charming village of Glen Arbor. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Manitou Islands and Sleeping Bear Dunes throughout the course.

Half Marathon Course: Experience challenging hills and stunning scenery along the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail.

5K Course: A fun out-and-back route that finishes at the beautiful shores of Empire Beach.

Held at the peak of fall color season, this tree-lined course offers a memorable experience for both runners and spectators alike. Come see why Good Morning America calls this area one of the most beautiful in the United States!

    Online registration: $25. In-Person Registration ($25) and packet/t-shirt pick-up on-site at the pavilion in Beulah, July 3rd from 5-7pm. Registration and packet pickup morning of the race will be from 6:45-7:45am ($35).

    The course begins in Beulah, travels outside of town with a few hills, along a dirt two-track and a short run downhill through a forest. The course finishes along the gravel Betsie Valley Trail back in town in Beulah near the shores of Crystal Lake.

    The race will be professionally timed by Sportstats. Live results will be available after the race, and all awards may be picked up after the FREE 1-mile fun run.

    T-shirts will be guaranteed to the first 550 participants.

    AWARDS: 5K - Custom prints awarded to 1st and 2nd place overall winners in the men's and women's divisions and 1st place overall in the men's and women's master's divisions and grand master's divisions. Custom glasses are awarded to the 1st finishers in each age group and trophies to the 1st place finishers in 18 and under. Medals are awarded to 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group. You or your representative must be present to claim your medal. If your medal is NOT claimed on July 4th, you may pick it up at the Benzie County Chamber of Commerce office July 5th thru 10th between 9 am and 5 pm. CLCBA regrets it can no longer mail medals or T-shirts. Walk/run participants will receive a ribbon for finishing the race. Family category (free with entry). Must have three or more direct family members. Times of the three fastest family members will be combined and Family Prize will be awarded to the "Fastest" family.

    One of the most beautiful 26.2 courses in the state of Michigan around Crystal Lake in Beulah. The course starts and finished at the east end of Crystal Lake in Beulah (start and finish rough 400 meters apart).

    As in years past, we will be offering runners the chance to run the full 26.2 as a competitive individual. The individual race begins at 7am with teams starting at 8am. We request all individuals and teams finish by 1pm (6 hr cutoff). For those that may need longer, please email and we can setup earlier start time.

    Teams of 5 are encouraged, but you may register a team with fewer than 5 runners. If less than 5, the team may determine how they cover the 26.2 mile course.

    Packet pickup will take place the Friday evening prior to race day 5-7pm at Beulah Beach (race start location - 284 S. Benzie Blvd, Beulah)

    Restrooms will be located at the start of the race along with various locations around the race course. There are no set restrooms out on the course. Water will also be available at roughly 12-15 spots spread throughout the course (No energy gel or Gatorade provided). These "aid" stations are simply volunteers around the lake who will have a table of cups and water out for runners.

    All teams are expected to transport themselves around the course to each exchange zone. This is very straightforward and a huge part of the fun! The course is not closed, and it is okay for runners on a team to join teammates for portions of their leg.

    Teams of 5 are standard, but other variations are acceptable (3 runners splitting the 5 legs, one runner running 1st and last leg with 3 others taking the middle three, etc.)

This Four-mile event begins and ends in downtown Cedar and includes free entry to the polka fest and a complimentary beer / pop!We welcome all Runners, Walkers, Strollers, Wheelchair Racers and Dogs to this professionally timed event.

    If you can’t make the race, no worries! You can run the race VIRTUALLY! By participating in a virtual setting, you will still receive an awesome collectible T-Shirt and support the Cedar Community.

    Location: At the Race Start Line near the 4 way stop in beautiful downtown Cedar.

    Race Starts at 8:00am

    The race starts promptly at 8:00AM. Participants are encouraged to dress up for this fun event. We will gather for the playing of our National Anthem at 7:55AM near the starting line at the Intersection of Bellinger and Cedar Road.

    Prizes will be given to Men’s and Women’s Overall 1st -3rd place age group winners.

    Awards

    Awards are available as soon as the timing company compiles the list. Awards can be picked up at the Registration Booth near the race Start / Finish Line.

    After the event

    Stick around for the Polka Fest Parade, the Craft Show & Farmers Market or to Dance the night away to some of the best Polka bands in the Midwest.

    You must register online before August 14th to receive a T-Shirt. We will have extras on race day for those who register after this date, but there is no guarantee on size. First come, first serve. This is a one of a kind event with a highly collectible T-shirt.
