The Marcona Wind Trail is one of Latin America's most breathtaking ultramarathons, unfolding where the desert meets the sea in San Juan de Marcona, Peru. Runners from around the world converge on this dramatic coastal terrain to tackle one of six distances: 100K, 65K, 42K, 35K, 21K, and 10K. Now a renowned stop on the Trail do Peru and ITRA-certified, this race is unlike any other on the planet—featuring vast dunes, rugged cliffs, stone-carved formations, and even a towering rock shaped like an elephant overlooking the Pacific. From giant wind turbines to inland beaches, every kilometer tests your endurance and ignites your senses. Certified ITRA points (42K, 65K, 100K) make the event a qualifying race for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB). Due to its harsh terrain and desert conditions, it is also considered ideal preparation for the Marathon des Sables and its global variants.
