Join us for the 4th Annual H.E.R.O Freedom Run featuring a 1-mile fun run and 5k run/walk on the beautiful cross-country course now being held onsite at Freedom River in Hamburg Township (Down the road from the Hamburg Family Fun Fest). We will kick off with a 1-mile fun run at 6:30 pm and our 5K run/walk at 7pm on a cross-country style course. The funds raised for this event will go toward building a HERO picnic refuge nestled among the trees near Gill Lake at Freedom River. Freedom River is an outdoor recreation facility for veterans and their families to relax, recover, and rejuvenate.

The race will be held on Friday evening, June 19th starting at 6:30 pm.

PRICING: 1 mile run - $25. 5k run/walk - $30.

COURSE: Cross country type course including trails, fields, and slight hills. Race is chipped timed.

PACKET PICKUP: At the registration table on race day (6/19) starting at 5pm.

AWARDS: Medals to all finishers! Trophies to all first-place finishers and overall male and female.

AGE GROUPS: 1 Mile Fun Run: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-14 5K Run/walk: 10 & under, 11-17, 18 & over Male and Female, Male and Female overall

REGISTRATION INCLUDES: Commemorative race T-shirt, available as supplies last. Also included in your race packet: Amusement ride VIP passes for Hamburg Family Fun Fest (pack of 3), free parking for the race and goody bags.

PARKING: Available on site.

RESULTS: We will have live results on this site!

The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.

You read that right, the race is a 2.62 mile run / walk at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, MI. All proceeds from the race will be used to support high school and college students, as well as students with cognitive impairments in the Greater Ann Arbor area to experience the adventure of a Young Life camp trip.     Livingston County Community Mental Health invites you to participate in the annual No Minds Left Behind 5K Run/Walk. We are running to raise awareness for mental health issues including the reduction of stigma and the promotion of positive support. Mental illness affects 1 in 4 people every year, meaning that nearly every family in our community is affected. With positive support, people can live a rewarding life in the community just like anyone else.

    Course - We will run and walk on the beautiful Lakeland trail in Hamburg. Parking is at Zukey Lake Tavern, 5011 Girard Dr, Pinckney, MI 48169. This will be an "out and back course" on the paved trail.

    Race Start Time: 10:00 AM

    Awards - Medals for top male and female for each age division. Age divisions: 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-over.

    Entry fee includes - $25 until April 4th, then $30 until May 1. Same day registration (May 2) is $35. Snacks and water are also provided at the event. Those who register after April 4th are not guaranteed a t-shirt in a particular size.

    This registration is for the 5K Run portion only of the DefiPlate™ Hybrid Strength & Speed Competition.

    The 5K is a USATF-measured course that runs through the scenic Hudson Mills Metropark loop.

    All runners will receive official chip timing, individual results, and event placement recognition.

    ⚙️ Hybrid Competition Overview (for reference)

    The full hybrid event challenges athletes to perform two scored disciplines:

    Deficit Deadlift (using DefiPlate™ and a stiff bar)

    5K Run

    Competitors’ rankings are based on a combined 50/50 scoring system, rewarding both strength and endurance.

    (Example: a strong deadlifter can still win if they post a solid run time — balance is key.)

    📏 5K Course Details

    Distance: USATF-certified 5,000 meters (Hudson Mills loop)

    Start: Mass start with chip timing

    Course Surface: Paved park path, scenic and flat

    Rules:

    No pacers, bikes, or outside assistance allowed (disability exception)

    All participants must finish under their own power

    Water stations provided
