These trails wind through rolling pine hills, sandy ridgelines, creek crossings, and remote stretches of forest that feel far removed from everyday life. Expect loose and hard-packed sand, rocks, mud, water crossings, long climbs, flowing descents, and extended runnable sections beneath the longleaf pines with stretches alongside the Kisatchie Bayou.The course travels across one of Louisiana’s most unique trail systems. The Sandstone and Caroline Dormon trails are true multi-use backcountry routes shared by runners, ATV riders, and equestrians, creating a dynamic and ever-changing trail surface that rewards awareness and adaptability. The Caroline Dormon Trail honors the pioneering Louisiana naturalist and conservationist who helped

establish Kisatchie National Forest itself, and much of the route moves through protected longleaf pine ecosystems and remote forest rarely experienced this deeply on foot.This is a true trail runner’s race—built by ultra runners, for ultra runners. The vibe is organic and community-driven, with well-stocked aid stations staffed by experienced ultrarunners who know exactly what it takes to get you to the finish. Vegan options are available at the finish line and mid-loop aid station, and you’ll be supported every step of the way by volunteers who genuinely care about your day out there.Please note: Distances are approximate. The “50K” is ~33 miles and the “100K” is ~66 miles. Runners will encounter sandy climbs, gentle rollers, stream crossings, and long stretches of remote singletrack through the pine forest. With a generous overall cutoff, participants have ample time to settle into the rhythm of the trail, manage the elements, and enjoy a long day in the woods.66 Mile (100K)~66 miles | ~6,000 ft elevation gainTwo clockwise loops deliver a demanding and rewarding ultra experience across varied, rugged terrain—sand, rocks, mud, water crossings, and long stretches that require steady attention to footing and effort. As daylight fades and fatigue builds, runners will need to stay engaged with fueling, pacing, and forward progress to reach the finish.Cutoff & TimingAll races share a midnight cutoff.The 100K allows 18 hours to complete the course. To finish 66 miles within 18 hours, runners

should plan for an average overall pace of approximately 16 minutes per mile, including all stops. Steady movement and thoughtful time management across changing terrain will set runners up for a strong finish. Make a Weekend of It Just 25 minutes from the race start, the historic town of Natchitoches offers the perfect post-race landing spot.
