Adelaide Trail Runners are very excited to bring you the second Lofty's Revenge on Saturday June 27th, 2026!

Our inaugural event in 2025 was a huge success with 225 athletes taking on some of the best trails of the Adelaide Hills! We really are spoiled for choice! Hopefully you're going to love making your way from the city, or just out of it, to Mt. Lofty Summit. We guarantee, you will never have thought of going this way about it!

The 50km Ultra Marathon event will start at Felixstow Reserve, a short 10-minute drive to the North-East of the CBD. Runners will enjoy a nice smooth, almost flat, start along Linear Park, which is adjacent to the River Torrens. You will also enjoy the new "Aqueduct Trail" in Highbury which is just stunning and includes amazing views of Black Hill. For all the details on the course maps, please click on the link above.

There will be 3 distances to choose from. The 50km Ultra Marathon, a 28km & 10km option, all finishing at the summit of Mt. Lofty. The 28km will start at Foxfield Oval in Athelstone and the 10km will start and finish at Mt Lofty Summit. The 50km has an elevation of 1,800m and is made up of approximately 70% trail and 30% road.

There will also be a 3-person teams relay for the 50km distance only. More details on each section can be found on the event page on the ATR website.

    Federation Ultra Trail

Born from a sense of adventure and a love for exploring our own backyard, the inaugural Federation Ultra Trail was held in 2018. The course traverses the southern end of the Lavender/Federation Trail from Monarto Safari Park to the riverside trail head at Sturt Reserve in Murray Bridge.

Runners are treated to exclusive access to Monarto Safari Parks walking trails that allows them glimpses of roaming Wild African animals including Meerkats, Giraffe, Bison, Chimpanzees and Rhinos. Proceeds from the event have raised in excess of $35,000, donated to Monarto Safari Park to help protect endangered species.

In 2019, the Federation Ultra Trail was proud to become a part of the first S.A. Five 50’s Ultra series; where runners take on the mammoth challenge of completing 5 of S.A.’s Trail Ultras. This series is now in its 7th year.

Welcome to the traditional lands of the Kaurna people. It's time to head to Cleland.

Cleland National Park conserves an important area of bushland situated in the Adelaide Hills face zone. A fantastic network of trails awaits you, taking you through native wildlife and cultural heritage zones and providing spectacular views of the Adelaide Hills and surrounds.

It's fair to say that it's a bit hilly here - probably why they call it the Adelaide Hills. Don't be put off - you'll be rewarded with native woodlands, forests, perched swamps, creeks, and maybe even a waterfall.

You can be guaranteed to run past many kangaroos - especially early in the morning, and you'll probably spot koalas too.

After your race, we recommend you visit the Cleland Wildlife Park - the young and young at heart will enjoy it equally.

Cleland is less than a 30-minute drive from the city.

Welcome to the 2026 Murray Bridge Running Festival 5k - 10k - 21.1k --- Sunday November 1st will be the 8th annual running of our event and again our Halloween edition! The course starts and finishes by the Bunyip at Sturt Reserve taking in the River Cities highlights whilst hugging the River. A Bridge closure is in place where all runners get to run over the first bridge to span the Murray River. Run the riverside esplanade, reserve, Bridge St, and the first bridge to span the Mighty Murray! This is a stunning course and not to be missed. Race Director’s Note: Unfortunately, we’ve had to remove the Marathon Distance from the 2026 event because of construction works on the levee banks. The marathon distance will return in 2027. The 5km event will be our Monster Mash Fun Run, where kids can dress up and get amongst the Halloween fun. Course Maps are available on the MMI website. Registrations Close October 25th !
