Loons Pennant Race – August 14

Fly through the finish line, then stick around to catch a Great Lakes Loons baseball game! The Loons Pennant Race is an unforgettable summer night at Dow Diamond.

Join us August 14, where you can participate in our 5K Run, 5K Walk or 1 Mile Run, then use your complimentary lawn ticket to relax and cheer on the Loons as they take on the South Bend Cubs during Grit Night (Detroit Lions theme). It’s also Foodie Friday, which means $2 hot dogs, plus $1 for chips, ice cream sandwiches or sodas.

Packet Pick-Up Friday, August 14 outside Dow Diamond from 3:30-5PM. Race held rain or shine!

Start Times: 1 Mile 5:15PM / 5K Run 5:35PM / 5K Walk 5:45PM

    Run Fur Fun! This event is a 5k Trail Run/Walk.

    We are happy to be back in 2026 with two chip timed events this year. We will have the 5K run/walk without dogs and the 5K run/walk with dogs. Both of these events will be chip timed with medals for first, second, and third place in male and female categories. Aid and water stations are positioned along the trail. This is a family-friendly and kid-friendly event and the trail is stroller-friendly.

    Packet pick-up and late registration will be at Midland City Forest -- Friday May 1, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Saturday May 2, 7:30 am -8:45 am for timed race without dogs and 9:00 am with dogs.

    Runners and walkers are encouraged to bring their canine companions and celebrate the special human-animal bond! Runners and walkers without dogs are also encouraged to come participate in the fun! Children 6 and under can run/walk for FREE! This is a stroller friendly course.

    Event T-shirts and other goodies for the runners/walkers will be guaranteed to those who register before April 20, 2026.

    All proceeds from this special fundraiser will directly benefit Great Lakes Bay Animal Society’s goal of providing quality care for animals in transition to their forever homes.

    Greater Midland Dow RunWalk – June 6

    A lot has changed since 1986 – the tunes, the fashion, the hair. But one thing has gone the distance: the Dow RunWalk! For 40 years it’s brought us together – people of all ages and racing experience – to celebrate our community and get us moving through races and family fun.

    Join us June 6 at Greater Midland Community Center for the 40th annual Dow RunWalk, powered by Members First Credit Union, featuring a 10K, 5K and 1 MILE RUN, 5K WALK and the TOT TROT. Finisher Medal for 10K and 5K races.

    Special in 2026! All race participants will receive a week-long pass to the Dow Championship; the LPGA Tour’s only official team-format tournament hosted at the Midland Country Club from June 8-14.

    RunWalk Expo and Packet pickup; Friday, June 5 from 3:30–6:30PM at Greater Midland Community Center. Participants will be able to enjoy a FREE meal, with voucher, from one of the local food trucks on site as well as a variety of interactive activities and displays from a variety of vendors.

    Packet Pick up will resume race morning at 6:45AM until race time inside the main entrance of the Midland Community Center. Race held rain or shine!

    Start Times*: 10K Run (7:55AM), 5K Run (8:10AM) and 5K Walk (8:25AM). GIRLS on the RUN Celebration 5K will START at 8:40AM and the 1 Mile Run takes off at 8:50AM followed by the Tot Trot at 9:10AM

    Nobody is too small to accomplish something BIG! Get ready to swim, bike, and run your way to celebration in a triathlon designed specifically for young athletes – Tri-Kids-Try Youth Triathlon, powered by Great Lakes Bay Orthodontics. Kids will build confidence and have fun in this youth triathlon as they swim, bike and run their way around and through Plymouth Park to reach the finish. Along the way, our race volunteers are there to help racers and cheer them on to the finish line where they will receive their TKT Finishers Medal!

    Not sure about tackling a youth triathlon? No worries! Join us for a fun training experience at the Kids Triathlon Camp; July 13-17. Morning and afternoon sessions are available based on age. A week of camp costs $175. Register for the Camp-Tri combo with one click/one price, $205 and save a few bucks!

    Ages 6-11 | 25-meter swim | 1.75 miles (1 lap) bike | .5 mile run = 1 lap

    Ages 12-15 | 50-meter swim | 1 length of the pool | 3.5 miles (2 laps) bike | .5 mile run = 1 lap

    OPEN DIVISION

    Ages 9-11 | 100-meter swim | 2 lengths of the pool | 3.5 miles (2 laps) bike | 1 mile run = 2 laps

    Ages 12-15 | 200-meter swim | 4 lengths of the pool | 5.25 miles (3 laps) bike | 1.5 mile run = 3 laps

    Have a young one (Ages 3- 5) looking to participate? Try out our Friday night MINI TKT, powered by JOLT Credit Union. 6PM START! ACTIVE KIDS, ages 3-5, will swim in the zero-depth end of the pool, bike down the parking lot (25 yds) and run behind the baseball diamond to the FINISH line to the North side of pool (under 1/4 mile). Along the way, our race volunteers are there to help and cheer racers on to the finish line. This is our introduction to the sport of triathlons for our MINI's! Shirt included and Participant Award included. Limited to first 98 registered.
