It was Fall 2015 when Joel and Kevin spent a wild night in a club in St Gallen, Switzerland with too many beers. That night dreams and visions became decisions they never regretted. Since the idea of a traditional running club was alien to them, they decided to start their own thing, that should be a fusion of competition and fun.

Community Run Social

Founded in 2013, Trail Maniacs Zurich is a close-knit community of about 50 trail runners who explore the wooded hills of Üetliberg, just outside Switzerland’s largest city. This independent, registered association fosters an inclusive spirit centered on camaraderie, adventure, and a shared passion for off-road running, sky running, and ski mountaineering. Every Monday evening, members meet for a 90-minute run through forest trails, embracing varied paces to welcome all experience levels. The crew’s connection to Zurich’s unique urban-alpine setting creates a vibrant blend of city energy and natural tranquility, offering runners scenic vistas and challenging terrain. Beyond weekly runs, members engage in local mountain races, reinforcing their commitment to trail running as both sport and lifestyle. Trail Maniacs Zurich stands out within the city’s running scene by bridging urban life with alpine adventure, cultivating friendships and a deep appreciation for the region’s natural beauty.

Founded in May 2024, runclub5000 has quickly become a vibrant running community in Aarau, a city known for its intimate size and welcoming spirit. Named after Aarau’s postal code, the crew began with a small group of friends determined to create a space where running is about connection rather than competition. They gather regularly at Markthalle Aarau, their home base, to enjoy easy to moderate runs through the city’s scenic parks and riverside trails. The crew embraces runners of all abilities, fostering an atmosphere of encouragement, steady progress, and friendship. By anchoring Aarau’s modest running scene with consistent weekly events and community support, runclub5000 reflects the city’s close-knit character and charm. Their inclusive philosophy celebrates running as a shared experience, inviting anyone eager to move and connect to join their growing family.
