Our nonprofit organization serves children and families throughout the RGV during times of need, and we need YOU to help us make a difference.

19th Annual Lisa Shampoe Cancer Care Foundation 5k run/walk

Join us 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ August 15, 2026 at the Mission Hike and Bike for the 19th annual 5K event 🎉

where the course will be an out and back on the paved path 🛣️. Run to win 🏅, jog 🏃, walk for your health 💪, do this for someone that you know who has had or has Cancer 🎗️.

This year we are working in conjunction with the IBC Bank 🤝 where proceeds will go to MD Anderson and will be matched by IBC Bank Dollar for Dollar💛.

Over the last 18 years, the Lisa Shampoe events have raised and donated more than $100,000 💰 to various cancer-fighting organizations and individuals.

Lisa Shampoe Cancer Care Foundation Mission Statement:

To help bring cancer awareness 🎗️ to our local community, financial support 💸 for treatment and research 🔬,

financial assistance in providing non-medical home care services 🏠 including respite care for those fighting Cancer and lacking financial resources.

• Chic-Fil-A (All pre-registered participants will be entered in a drawing for a free 1 year Chic-Fil-a meal)

Shirts: "We have 300 shirts for this event, but sizes are limited. Shirts will be given out by size in the order you sign up, until that size is gone."

Como parte de ese compromiso, el próximo domingo, 18 de octubre de 2026 a las 6:30am, se celebrará el Primer 5K Carmela en Las Piedras. Este evento tiene como propósito recaudar fondos para otorgar becas-ayuda monetaria a estudiantes de duodécimo grado con excelencia académica en nuestro municipio, aportando a su desarrollo profesional y contribuyendo al futuro de Puerto Rico.

El evento se llevará a cabo en la zona industrial de Las Piedras, donde se encuentra nuestra planta, junto a otros motores económicos importantes para la región.

En Profamilias, creemos que el acceso a la salud sexual es un derecho fundamental y una pieza clave para construir comunidades más saludables, informadas y libres.

El 5K por la Salud Sexual de Profamilias nace como una iniciativa para unir a la comunidad

alrededor del movimiento, la solidaridad y el compromiso colectivo con la salud. Cada paso que se corre en esta carrera representa una oportunidad para seguir ampliando el acceso a servicios de salud, educación sexual y programas comunitarios que impactan la vida de jóvenes, adultos y familias en Puerto Rico.Más que una carrera, este evento es un espacio para celebrar la vida, el bienestar y el poder de la comunidad cuando se une por una causa.

Al participar, las personas no solo están corriendo un 5K, están apoyando programas que promueven la prevención, el acceso a información basada en evidencia y el derecho de todas las personas a tomar decisiones informadas sobre sus cuerpos y su salud.
