About the Event

The Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run is organized and produced by the Port Townsend Marathon Association, a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to fostering and encouraging runners of all ages—both in the school system and in the community at large. Join us for a Family Fun Run at Windjammer Park on May 30!

Oak Harbor Educational Foundation is hosting a fun run for both kids and grown ups with three lengths: A 5K route, a 1-mile student run, and a 1/2-mile student run!

Sign up with your family and friends for this event along the Oak Harbor waterfront. For added fun, come dressed in your favorite 80s decade attire!

The 1/2 mile student run will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the 1-mile student run and then the 5k run will be the last run.

On event day, Kona Ice and Travelin' Toms Coffee will be available for purchase. And be sure to stop by MOD Pizza anytime on run day and mention Oak Harbor Educational Foundation or order online with the code MODGIVES20.

    Important Notes:

    • All students should be accompanied by an adult.

    • This run is not a chipped timed event. Instead a race clock will be keeping the time from the start for each run group/distance and can be viewed at the finish line.

    • The first run is the student 1/2 mile run, followed by the student 1 mile run. The 5K distance will be the last group to begin. At this time we cannot guarantee the exact start time of the 5K, but we encourage families and our community to come and hang out and cheer on the other runners!

    • Student races for the 1/2 mile and 1-mile race show recommendations for age. This is a recommendation, please register for the distance that is best for your child's ability.

    • Shirts and run bibs can be picked up before May 30. Details for when/where to pick up shirts and run bibs will be emailed out before the event.

    • Parking is available at Windjammer Park or near the water-treatment facility. Carpooling is encouraged.

    • Please leave your pets at home.

    • No inflatable costumes will be allowed.

This event is a fundraiser for Oak Harbor Educational Foundation (OHEF). The mission of the OHEF is to empower Oak Harbor School District’s students and educators. We create opportunities for students to thrive, receive scholarships for post-secondary education, and enable teachers and schools to provide supportive and innovative learning experiences.

Did you know? Over $70k in OHEF scholarships are available for graduating seniors RIGHT NOW! Visit our website for more information.

    About Tour de Lavender

With vistas of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains, the blue expanse of the Salish Sea, and multi-hued fields of wondrous lavender to roam, the “Tour de Lavender” is more than just a ride, it’s an experience! Since 2013, the Tour de Lavender has given cyclists from beginner to expert the chance to celebrate the stunning beauty of the Olympic Peninsula and enjoy the renowned lavender farms of the Sequim-Dungeness. Celebrate some more when you return to the finish area with pizza, beer garden, socializing. You can also pick up any purchases that you made at the farms, which we will transport back to the event finish area for you!

    Peninsula Trails Coalition

Proceeds from the Tour de Lavender go to the Peninsula Trails Coalition, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and are used for the construction and maintenance of the Olympic Discovery Trail, as well as advocacy and education.

There are a number of ways to participate in the Tour de Lavender:

    • The 35-mile Fun Ride. The Fun Ride on the Tour de Lavender is a loop course and is for cyclists looking for a more casual, relaxed ride. The route is over mostly level terrain, and most of it is on low traffic country roads as well as the Olympic Discovery Trail, the Peninsula’s crown jewel of scenic bikeways.

    • The 64-mile Metric Century. The Metric Century is also a loop course. It is mostly over level or gently rolling terrain but incorporates two more challenging hill climbs. It follows backcountry roads and segments of the region’s premier scenic bikeway, and the Olympic Discovery Trail. Elevation gained on the route is more than 2,000 feet.

Both courses visit multiple lavender farms. Each farm has a dedicated Tour de Lavender support station offering snacks, beverages, and quick access to mechanical support if your bike needs it. Each farm also has its own unique character, but all are dedicated to making your visit a memorable experience and truly “cyclist-friendly.”

    REGISTRATION OPENS JANUARY 1ST.

    Entry fees:

    Adult:

    • $80 January 1 - April 30

    • $90 May 1 - Jun 30

    • $95 July 1 - August 1

    Youth pricing: $35 ages 13-17 / $15 ages 12 and under

Entry fee includes: swag bag, marked courses as well as paper and digital maps, pre-event and on-course mechanical support, fully-stocked snack stations at each farm and at Sequim Bay State Park, post-ride pizza (and a no-host beer garden to compliment it!), shopping service (we will transport your farm purchases back to the finish area for you), and more.

See the Tour de Lavender website for full event information.

NEW for 2026! MORE ways to experience Tour de Lavender and support the Olympic Discovery Trail

    Tour de Lavender Self-Guided

This is for folks who either cannot attend on August 1 or prefer a more low-key experience while still supporting fundraising for the Olympic Discovery Trail. Participants ride either of the distances on any day between July 20 - 31 or Aug 2-15 (NOT on August 1st). We will provide a swag bag, paper and digital maps, and all of the information you need to have a lovely day visiting the farms, such as the schedule of farm operating hours, coupons, and more. Price is $55 per person.
