  Alpha Women's Center is a non-profit ministry dedicated to providing help and hope for the unborn, mothers, and families in our community. By participating in the 3rd Annual Lace Up For Life 5k, you can be a part of our mission! Included with each registration is an official 5K time by True Time Racing, participation packet with goodies from community partners, and post-race activities - FREE food, awards, inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, guided tours of AWC and more. A morning of FUN for the whole family!

  Things to Note:

  • Signup before March 25th to guarantee a t-shirt in your size.

  • Due to liability requirements and official race rules, all minors must be registered to participate.

  • However, there is NO COST for children who accompany a registered guardian while riding in a stroller or child carrier.

  • Price:

  • $25.00 early bird until January 31st.

  • $30.00 normal price from February 1st - April 4th

  • $35.00 late signup price from April 5th - April 11th (race day)

  The Iowa Hope Run is a movement that brings together survivors, families, friends, and supporters from Iowa and beyond to raise awareness and funds for brain tumor research, advocacy, and patient support.

  This event has spent more than a decade building a strong, compassionate community rooted in Central Iowa. As we grow, our new name reflects what has always been true—hope knows no boundaries. While proudly Iowa-based, the Iowa Hope Run welcomes participants from anywhere who are united by a shared mission: supporting those affected by brain tumors and working toward a future without them.

  Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join us at Water Works Park in Des Moines for a meaningful and inspiring day. Choose from multiple distances, including a 2K, 5K, or 10.1K, or participate virtually if you’re supporting from afar. Whether you’re running, walking, fundraising, or volunteering, every step makes an impact.

  Proceeds from the Iowa Hope Run benefit Dragon Master Initiative, National Brain Tumor Society, and Children’s Cancer Connection—three organizations doing critical work in brain tumor research, awareness, advocacy, and family support.

  This is more than a race—it’s a day of hope, remembrance, and community. We invite you to join us.
