The annual X&A 5K and 3.21 Memorial walk is scheduled for June 27, 2026, in Deshler. As you know this event commemorates Xavier and Aidan Wensink and their passion for running. Please join us in this community event to run the streets of Deshler, on roads they ran repeatedly over the years, in celebration of their lives. The 5K (3.1 mile) race/memorial walk will take place on June 27, 2026 and starts at 8 am and begins and ends at Deshler Pirate Park with all proceeds earned going towards Wellness projects in the Patrick Henry Community. There will also be a 1 mile memorial walk for those who do not wish to participate in the timed 5K route. Dave's Running will be facilitating chip timing technology for fast accurate results for those runners and walkers who choose to be timed. Register by June 15 to reserve your shirt and commemorative wrist-band. Race day registration will not include a shirt. Early Packet Pickup will be available Thursday, June 25, time and location TBD. given to registered 5K participants. Pancakes will be served following the race in memory of Aidan's love of pancakes.

To reduce cost for large families, please register multiple participants with one transaction to reduce processing fees. Also, registrants with a cart total of $80 or more, use coupon code FAMILY10 to receive a 10% discount.

We will also have a one square block Fun Run for kids starting at 9:00 am. Fun Run participants receive a medal, a tribute wristband, and Xavier and Aidan's favorite treats, skittles and cosmic brownies.

    Join in the fun for the second annual OLPH Fun Fest 5K. This is an out and back course. Entry fee includes race shirt, medal, early entry to the festival, one adult beverage (21+), or bottle of pop. This is a chip timed event. To guarantee a shirt, you must register by May 15th. Limited shirts will be available on race day for those who registered after May 15th.

    The start and finish will be in front of the big Festival tent at OLPH on the bike trail.

    Parking will in the small parking lot on Brookford Dr side of OLPH or on the side streets.

    Packet Pick-up

    Thursday, May 28th at OLPH in the Gym from 5-7pm. You will need to enter from Brookford drive and park in the small parking lot.

    Late registration and Race Day packet pick-up 10am-10:45am.

    The 5K course at Swan Creek Preserve Metropark was funded and mapped by the Toledo Roadrunners Club! Let's enjoy it together! It is an all purpose paved trail, great for all ages and abilities. The course consists of an upper loop (approximately 1.7 miles) with the balance being an out and back. If you don't want to run or walk the full 5K, come out and complete 1.7 miles!

    The event is $5.00 for Toledo Roadrunners Club members and $10.00 for non-members. $13.00 unisex cotton blend shirt add-on (see shirt below). Shirt guarantee ends on May 24. Online registration only. Online registration will be open until the start of the event. During registration, you'll be prompted to fill in "I Run ..." Let us know why you run! Have fun with it! It is optional.

    Check-in at the Mary Jane Gill shelter. Check in starts at 5:30pm. The shelter is located south of the playground. Use the parking lot off Airport Highway.

    There will be a clock set up. There are no awards.

    Water and snacks will be available at the conclusion of event. There will also be some giveaways!

    Do to the low cost and the t-shirt being an add on, race insurance is not offered for this event.

    Mercy Health – Toledo will provide onsite medical support.

    Join us for an opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth with 2.5-mile run/ walk and Kids 1K. The event takes place amidst multiple family friendly Juneteenth activities throughout the day. Juneteenth has been celebrated since June 19, 1865, when federal troops were sent to Galveston, Texas to deliver Order No. 3 (the news of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation) to the enslaved people of Texas, 2 ½ years after its signing.

    Juneteenth became a Federally recognized holiday in 2021, thanks largely due to the efforts of a retired teacher, principal, and grandmother who walked 2.5 miles through multiple cities until she arrived in Washington DC. Texas native, Opal Lee was in her late 80’s when she began her 2.5 walking campaign. Opal Lee is known as the lady in tennis shoes and as the grandmother of Juneteenth.

    Children and families of all abilities are welcome and encouraged. Also consider joining us at our next events.
